I won’t claim I’ve read the report as it’s almost time for my morning commute (down the stairs, turn left, sit at table) but I feel as though I can predict the gist of it with some precision. And so can you.
But here it is anyway, thank me later

CCDH is a vicious group of personal muck-spreaders that needs to look at itself.
I read the report last night and it would not pass muster as an undergraduate project. Extremely repetitious, blatantly targeting alternative voices for their reach, using a few crappy screenshots as “evidence”. The citations are to their own materials, mainstream newspaper websites, and the like.
The whole thing, this is wholly not a surprise, is simply aimed at deplatforming of awkward truthers and entrenchment of the “science says” cult.
Cult indeed. There’s an interesting discussion around in Scotland sparked by the Greens wanting to replace the exam system. On the fringe of that are one or two people saying the whole education system needs to be aligned towards young people’s real needs.
There are some great examples around that suggest that many if not most have learned something else from the education system - to ignore the actual meaning of words, and take their cues from the trusted source. The widespread use of words like ‘disinformation’ as in this CCDH ‘report’ which is built around this one premise, and whose function is to orchestrate flak in the direction of those disagreeing with them. The word ‘hate’ itself - thrown around by a group claiming to be countering it, yet they are cited without batting an eyelid.
Defenders of the faith like James O’Brien use this ‘trust’ to make a living knocking people down without even listening to them

He didn’t even know who Judy Mikowics is - geared up to attack sources from the beginning, he never allowed this caller to have her real say. When this got her upset he moved in for … I don’t know what to call it, but it was pretty disgusting.
That was mega condescending.
He says trust the experts and then presumes to psychoanalyse the caller based on a <5 minute conversation.
Then tweets that out, in a totally ‘not taking advantage’ way.
On the subject of schooling, it’s well worth reading Sinead Murphy’s article on the real lessons that the UK school system bakes in to ‘vulnerable’ minds. She’s referring specifically to home schooling but IMHO that’s essentially the same thing, without quite as much playground barbarism.
Thanks for these links folks, which look more like the latest outlets of the 77th brigade!
I’m just trying not to get needled by their “facts”-n’-‘ate campaigns!
cheers
Looks pretty grim from from the vantage point of some kids.
Some ‘home-educators’ dispense with the ‘schooling’ in home schooling, except when it’s good for the kids. So rather than eg read books about the Romans with a view to tests and exams, they’re doing projects or going to museums, trying to get more of a feel for the subject. I think that’s a lot more work for the parents, though!
Hi @KarenEliot did you catch Iain Davis’ 2 parter on the CCDH pornets nest of 'sinformation:
cheers
PS I liked his CV:
" Iain
I’m an author, journalist, blogger and video maker (contributing to 21stCenturyWire, UKColumn, the OffGuardian and other leading news sites,) I am able to leap small footstools in a single bound, haven’t been kicked out lately and am occasionally reliable. I really enjoy a jolly good rant. Though many have expressed their wish that I didn’t."
Yes thanks I saw these last year. I recall tracing the various directors via Companies House and making some notes…somewhere or other.
The author suggested that the choice of US spelling of Center must indicate that this agency is seeking to exert pressure in the US. Totally the case, of course that’s where the social media platforms are administered from, so it makes perfect sense.
Apparently there’s some kind of Twitter boycott this weekend in protest at their supposed inability or unwillingness to tackle online hate blah blah blah. As usual ‘racism’ is the problem being cited for this reaction. You can’t argue against that of course for fear of being stigmatised as a rAciSm ENaBluH. No doubt it will be the ‘identifying as women’ brigade next week.
The clamp-down on dissent is ratcheting up very obviously. What exactly are the mafiosos so scared of…?
What are they scared of? That we’ll suss what they’re up to, and rise up and lynch them.
Is it just to protect existing mischief or a clamp-down in advance of a ratcheting-up of the mischief/criminality.
