Syria -WTF?

I go away with limited internet for a week and come back to find the Syrian govt has collapsed, Assad has fled, the Israelis have invaded and the jihadists are in charge.

All in 10 days from the launch of the invasion.

If anyone can explain this, I’m all ears…

My sentiments exactly. It has a feel of Libya about it. Hope I’m wrong.

Hi folks, a few pointers here:

Syria

A combination of Bush era neo-con policy to bring down Iraq, Libya, Syria and Iran - just Iran to go - and extra legal activities of US UK French Turkish and Gulf State intelligence agencies backed by Saudi cash, combined with Ukrainian military know how and people.

What happens when you let “Intelligence” Services take over policy:

The White Wolves of Ukraine

The White Wolves in Syria December 2024

Operation Sycamore June 2013 - Obama

The Redline and the Ratline - Seymour Hersh 2014

UK involvement in Syria was of course thwarted by Parliament in Cameron’s day and equally obviously totally ignored by UK intelligence.

The window here was to get Syria sorted before Trump - last time he was in Trump dropped Syria, so no-one in the Intelligence world wanted that to happen again.

Democracy, wouldn’t it be nice!

cheers

Thanks for this background. It sure feels like something that’s been rushed and related to the coming change of regime in the US. No good news for ordinary people and the common heritage of mankind in any if it.

Thanks @CJ1

It’s still unbelievable how fast the collapse has occurred. And what is Erdogan’s end game here? He’s clearly the prime instigator here.

This piece by Craig Murray sums up a lot of the terrible implications of this situation.

Hi @admin , I guess the new factor - the white wolves and their sophisticated drones - decimated the Syrian armour leaving them with little. The aim would be to tie everything up by Jan 20th.
Israel of course are still interested in chunks of Syria up to Damascus as mentioned by an Israeli minister in 2023, by switching action from Lebanon to Syria they also hide their losses in Lebanon.

Erdogan saw territorial gains from Syria, Syrian oil resources including access to Gulf pipeline and a chance to deal with the Kurds. Burning his bridge to Russia doesn’t appear to be a problem for him!

Good stuff from CM.

Cheers

“…what is Erdogan’s end game here? He’s clearly the prime instigator here.”

Really? There doesn’t seem to me to be any evidence that this is Erdogans’s doing. The co-ordination and timing say US (PNAC next step anybody? - just been a long time coming) and Israel (per the Yinon plan which envisages the dismemberment of Syria)

As Pepe Escobar says, its unbelievable that Russian & Iranian intel. were not aware.
I just hope, God do I hope, that they’re playing chess with the black pieces.

Oh here to start?

Why didn’t anyone from Syria go to Ukraine (observation or combat)? Why nothing but abandonment of positions and equipment across the country? Why is Israel heading into Syria, don’t they have enough to deal with? Why didn’t the Russians notice the build up in Turkey?

This stinks front, back and sides. Assad was made to resign at Doha, where amongst others Russia and Iran attended (Assad’s plane is rumoured to be shot down). The terrorists (leader now looks like Zelensky) are proscribed yet the media is singing.

Who next to be melded into Greater Israel?

Here is b at moon of Alabama I s the subject

https://www.moonofalabama.org/2024/12/syria-falls.html

@AlanG there seem to be several videos and eyewitness accounts of Turkish speaking soldiers in the vanguard, and flags of the Turkish Grey Wolves paramilitary.

Plus Erdogan has been grooming jihahdis in Idlib province for years now.

In the article above , b at MoA also points the finger at Erdogan:

As soon as the bogus ceasefire in Lebanon was signed Turkey unleashed its takfiri ‘Syrian rebels’, many of them foreigners, against Syria. These were exceptionally well armed and trained. They have (vid) night vision equipment, drones, artillery, Starlink communication and a capable, professional command

…and Craig Murray, to whom you linked previously, has no doubt as to US instigation and Israeli participation. Nor has Mike Whitney, quoting the Iran Observer

Timeline before the attack on Aleppo:
November 18, Israel’s Shin Bet Chief met with Turkey’s intelligence agency
November 25, NATO Chief met with Erdogan
November 26, Al Qaeda and ISIS launched an attack against the Syrian state
@IranObserver0

Of course Turkish flags are waving, Turkish special ops forces are in the shop window, of course Erdogan’s pretending, by sly insinuation, to be running the show. Just as, of course, he’s been keeping up the supply of oil to the Zionist entity while pretending he’s ended all trade with it.

The US & Israel - and NATO (the ‘jihadis’ are equipped as a NATO army) - are ‘clearly’ behind Erdogan. The question is, surely, are the same psychopathic global leaders who are behind them also behind Russia, BRICS etc.?

Assad: a tragic figure?

This is such a long thread and so complex, I haven’t had time to go through it all, but for what it’s worth, here is my simple overview of the “axis of resistance”.

1 After 2016, one third of the Syrian army was discharged. This was on the basis of insufficient money to pay them. My take; BS. Any country that issues their own currency (not via a Rothchild or NWO central bank), cannot run out of money. They sold all their gold, exactly as the NWO wanted and suffered the economic consequences.

2 Erdogan is a friggin criminal. Apparently he has said, “There are only two leaders in the world with extensive experience and tenure”. Listening to Patrick Henningson there are two groups of Kurds. Erdogan has been supporting both and there are reports of a Turkish flag flying from the citadel in Aleppo and Turkish troops there. Clearly, he’ll do whatever suits Erdogan (bit like someone else in the Middle East).

3 Lebanon (the government) sold out Hezbollah and the Palestinians, as clearly evidenced by the now over 60 breaches of the ‘ceasefire’. Any 10 year old knows a ceasefire is a temporary pause and allows the parties to recover.

4 Iran too, has sold out the Palestinians. They have shown the capability to hit anywhere in Israel, protect themselves from any subsequent attack, and have justification to do so in response to the last attack on them. They have talked about “True Promise III” where they could have taken out every Israeli airfield, stopping the bombing by F-35’s, but they didn’t.

5 The Syrians left Idlib and the US Al Tanf airbase unmolested for the last eight years, while Aleppo (believed to be the oldest populated city in the world) was depleted of their entire industry shipped to Turkey, and Syrian oil was sold to Israel. Not really surprising that all sorts of terrorist organisations could be built up by Israel, the US, the UK and Turkey all the while sitting on Syrian soil.

In summary, I remember a quote by Putin, from a few years ago. He said (may not be word perfect), “I remember growing up on the streets of Leningrad, that you avoid a fight if at all possible. However, if a fight is inevitable, make sure you hit first”.

I would add my own corollary to this. When dealing with a bully (aka Israel, Turkey, NATO, et all), you finally fight back and knock them down. Then, make sure they do not get up again. Hezbollah (courtesy of the Lebanese government) did not finish the job. Syria, did not finish the job. Iran did not finish the job. And now, the entire Middle East is f***** and the Palestinians will soon be no more.

I am clearly bitter and saddened so apologies for weighing in!

There is a video of Gaddafi warning the Arab leaders they will be next (2008?). Assad laughs out loud…

CNN interview is hilarious. When asked about previous behaviour, it was written off as the high emotion of youth and that Arab Zelensky has learned maturity.

More than that, General Wesley Clark, four stars and former presidential candidate, said this on camera. “I was told we are going to take out seven countries in five years”. Syria was on that list

An extremely prescient article published on the 8th of December but presumably written a few days before.

I’m aware of Clark. Yugoslavia. He was ready to start WW3 over an airport. What caused this? What did Clark really hear to make him confess about the central bank’s missing from Rothschild’s collection?

To Hell with Geopolitics

Interesting analysis from Alistair Crooke here:

  • basically Assad turned away help over the years from Russia and Iran whilst moving towards a closer relationship with the Gulf States - a terrible move when under severe sanctions leading to poverty throughout Syria making the buy out of the military almost inevitable. ( Generals in Syrian army were paid only $40 per month! )
