Randomised controlled trial of vit D reduces ICU admission from 50% to 2%

A new RCT study from Spain shows vitamin D (calcefidiol) has a great impact in reducing ICU entry and death from covid.

Useful discussion of the above study by Dr John Campbell

Thanks for these posts, PP.
Wow-should be big news. But will it be? Out for a week, haven’t seen it anywhere.
Dr John Campbell says the Vitamin D/Covid picture is now so strong, that big RCT’s need to be done urgently by the WHO, CDC, CEBM etc, and that it’s unethical that they haven’t been already.

The only thing is, if done by the CDC, WHO or Pharma-influnced groups, will the Vit D studies be mined like the HCQ studies?
There might be enough evidence already. Also there is widespread Vitamin D insufficiency (and deficiency), especially among the elderly - and as Dr Campbell says, Vit D levels are also lower among the ethnic groups that have much worse Covid-19 outcomes.

As waltb says, thanks for that PP.

Just the headline alone should be screamed out by the World Hoax Organisation. However, it will never really see the light of day, unless big pharma can hijack vitamin D and patent it! Interestingly, my own doctor gives out a high dose vitamin D shot to every patient at the start of winter, regardless of why he/she went there in the first place.

That’s a great initiative by your doctor. I think the evidence is completely clear!

Yes, great points re ethnic minorities. I wonder if people in sub-Saharan Africa suffer from vit D deficiencies?

Did you notice that the “best available care protocol” in this hospital in Spain was HCQ + Azithromicin? No zinc though.

Looks like doctors are just getting on with saving lives away from the charged politics of the situation…

Cheers

Apparently North and South Africa suffer a greater vit D deficiency than sub-saharan Africa. I wonder how well this correlates with the spread of Covid?

Mean serum 25(OH)D concentrations were lower in populations living in northern African countries or South Africa compared with sub-Saharan Africa, in urban areas compared with rural areas, in women compared with men, and in newborn babies compared with their mothers.

PP. Just got round to watching the video (rather than jsut reading the headline). What a clear simple explanation for the more mentally challenged like me.

Great find. Thanks again.

Odd! The way that D is getting just a little bit of honest attention makes me wonder: is this so as not to have to give any attention at all to the equal - or greater - therapeutic effect of C? Still a huge silence about that, despite all the solid evidence. Btw, I take both, daily: belt and braces…

Rhis, I don’t think D is getting any attention. Would any of us have seen that video or heard about this trial if it hadn’t been posted here? There have been similar stories, maybe not RCT, of vitamin C, and several existing drugs, all of which simply disappear into the ether.

Quite right. Just my passing fancy…

Another study just out, also from Spain: More than 80 per cent of hospitalized COVID-19 patients had vitamin D deficiency

Amazing research, and criminal that it’s still not acknowledged by our public health officials. Thanks a lot for bringing it here @Evvy_dense.

Here is Chris Martensen on this subject. It’s quite hard hitting and also hilarious. What is it about the Brits that we go straight to the no-sex messaging?

Thanks for the Chris M vid, P. The counter-chorus, against the official prop-narrative, deepens, doesn’t it. All that waitingtosee has done its job; but with much more still to do…

Even Chris - who “…isn’t a cospithirrist…” (the standard required declaration of orthodox comformancy, about as mandatory as flaunting the damned poppies on Armistice Day), even he by the end of this vid admits the plainasthenose fact that “…something is going on…”. Finalmente!
