I’ve been largely ignorant of the role the Netherlands plays in the spook network of the EU until news emerged that Geert Wilders, stamped from the same template as Johnson and Milei, nominated a civil servant, and obvious spy, as the incoming Prime Minister.
The fact that he’s not even an MP struck me as unusual, and it seems some other nominees might also join the government in waiting that’s being formed.
It seems this will wait until Shakin’ Stoltenberg steps away in the autumn, Mark Rutte taking his place. By which time there will also be ‘new’ UK and French governments. And the rest e.g. a possible new job for the odious Tony Blair. And I wonder where David Cameron will end up?
