Your Man in the Public Gallery: Assange Hearing Day 11 - Craig Murray

I know that most of you are following this at source. But it feels important to keep sharing and discussing it.

Where the fuck are the news media? How shameless.

As I read the other day, if a journalist is not terrified by this trial, it’s just evidence that such a person never was a journalist at all. They’re a stenographer of power, or and simple. That’s why the know they are safe.

Thanks, was about to post myself. Craig Murray is performing an absolutely vital bit of reportage while the entire journalistic community whistles in the wind. Harding and Leigh are worms.

This is a classic. It should be compulsory viewing in all journalism classes around the world!

The BBC’s two most recent pieces heavily feature Vivienne Westwood. Their next most recent is also a form of celebrity gossip: Assange has sex, shock horror! Apart from that, nada. You have to go back to February to find an article that gives a clue as to Assange’s defence.

Thanks @Twirlip

Last piece on Sep 7, fully 10 days ago. Before that 21 July.

What a shameful state of affairs.

:rage:

One encouraging thing about this ridiculous farce of a kangaroo-court ‘trial’ is that it’s so blatantly dishonest and biased that it’s providing masses of quality material for an appeal. Craig’s heroic skewering of procedures is a key element in this. The longer this whole process can be delayed, the better Julian’s chance of not being disappeared into the US gulag archipelago. We have to go on sluggin’ for Julian!
