Interesting article. The question of liberties seems to have become a tricky one for the left, and cosying up to authoritarianism is a big potential problem. That’s why some brand of leftists are affectionately known as tankies.
I must say that my knee jerk reaction when I hear someone talk about old Ms Carta is to assume a right wing, pro “my-freedoms” bent.
Clearly something for me to work on there. Thanks for posting!
