US military 'admits' cover-up of 60 civilians killed in 2019 syria raids

They’ve admitted the deaths, but now say the women and children may have been combatants.
Legitmate self-defense in Syria, they now say.
Funny they kept it quiet, then.

US military hid air raids that killed dozens in Syria: Report

New York Times investigation finds that up to 64 women and children may have been killed in the March 2019 air raids.

I’ve pored over the details of this NYT investigation, and some of the story may be true, but the rest isn’t! Given other events in the region, it can’t be assumed the NYT is not acting in coordination with the CIA et al to put out this story, because the actual crime committed by the US in Syria both three years ago and continuing now is so much greater. Starting with what REALLY happened in Baghuz - as I wrote about on AHT. THIRTY THOUSAND “women and children” - and old men and others - came out of the tunnel complex under the village of Baghuz, which happens to be right on the Iraqi border. I imagine/assume, that the tunnel system allowed the Yanks to ferret away most of the fighters, or at least hide them there till the show above ground was finished. While the West’s media focused on the refugees, who somehow got transported 250 kms to Al Howl camp, the US helicoptered around IS leaders and relocated fighters to Al Tanf and Al Asad base in Iraq.
Oddly I would never have found out about this tunnel complex if it weren’t for Martin CHulov, who actually went to Baghuz and had access to the right people.

THere are some interesting photos/videos in the NYT report, but what we saw at the time was all smoke and mirrors. THere was hardly any bombing or fighting, though we were told of this great battle to get IS in its last redoubt. And the NYT report remakes the whole lie while exposing a small part of it that was supposedly concealed. Classic operation of disinfo!

It’s also hardly necessary to be reminded, though of course the NYT didn’t, of the real atrocity back in 2016 when the US and allies attacked the Syrian military base guarding Deir al Zour airport, enabling its takeover by IS forces immediately after they killed 100 odd soldiers. Syrian’s won’t ever forget what happened there, or the battle for Al Bukamal later, which is just over the Euphrates opposite Baghuz. … Thanks for the reminder! Worth also noting that many of the refugees currently going to Minsk are Kurds leaving from Sulaimaniyeh or Erbil, on Turkish air…
But the legitimate self defence is as shallow as the grey matter remaining in Biden’s skull…

Thanks David. Sounds like I got more than I bargained for with this authorized mini-revelation.
I don’t know much about this, but I wondered - how do you know Martin Chulov is telling it straight, I wouldn’t have thought the Guardian’s Eastern hack would be any higher on your trust list than the NYT. Just wondering…
Cheers

You’re absolutely right EV! Chulov is the pits, and probably MI6 besides. Which contradictorily is why I believed him!
What happened in Baghuz was very perplexing until I heard him interviewed, because our media was making up such stupid stories about it. It was a “great battle” and “ISIS last post”, and the SDF was there waiting to move in while the US bombed the F out of them - only they didn’t ! we hardly saw any bombs, a few bursts of gun fire, and some puffs of smoke, amongst the old cars and rubbish and tents. Somewhere there were supposed to be a few hundred fighters and a thousand others, but where? There didn’t even seem to be much of a settlement there. Meanwhile reporters interviewed “refugees” in Qamishli, 300 kms away in the NE, pretending that Baghuz was somewhere nearby, or pretending that they were actually there. Also meanwhile I was reading reports about the Yanks ferrying terrorists around and away in choppers, and shipping out tons of Syrian and Iraqi gold that they had hidden just down the road from Al Howl camp.

So when I heard from Chulov, who actually had been in Baghuz, and had talked to some intelligence officials, and he said that there were tunnels under Baghuz out of which 30,000 people had come… It all made sense! Having seen the tunnel system under Douma stretching for miles and through which 4WDs could pass, it seemed all too likely these tunnels went over the border, or under it, into Iraq. All the attacks around Al Qaim also made sense, as the US and Israel fought a covert war with the Iraqi PMFs there…
I’ll try to locate the articles on it, with links to Chulov’s interviews… cheers David.

Thanks David! Clearly there is no need for Bond movies anymore.

I sought out the two articles I wrote about this for AHT, and I think you’ll find them amusing, if you can bear the sarcasm… Actually reminds me of what I’d half forgotten, but which stands the test of time, and still demands both exposure and investigation. I should really find somewhere to republish them in the hope that the message might get through to those who should really know like Caitlin Johnstone and Aaron Mate. It’s understandable that they focus on this US crime, yet beside the crimes they have committed by using IS fighters as a Trojan Horse as well as directly supporting them in attacks on Syrians, a couple of airstrikes are nothing. Even compared with what REALLY happened in Kabul, with US forces and their shock troops firing at people in the crowds and probably assisting the bomber from “ISIS K” too.

anyway this is the first piece, from early March:

and this one on the “Secret city”, revealed by Chulov:

The interview with Chulov - on May 4th, two weeks before the NYT incident, can be listened to here if you like:

Thanks for this stuff David. Will peruse soon (it’s the wee small hours here)
