This is a disgrace. Sending our money to prop up a lost war and kill more innocent people. Starmer should be jailed for wasting our money while our citizens die of cold this winter. How dare he. The comments say it all.
Yes some excellent comments.
Meantime twee I Stand With Ukraine badges are resurfacing on faecesbook and there are protests “several dozen” strong outside Downing St voicing support for Elenskyy.
The usual mise en scene
This is as you said @Rich, a disgrace. However I don’t believe it’s just about propping up an unjust war. In my opinion, it’s about propping up the UK banking system. I’ll explain.
We all know about the many billions of “black hole” that Starmers team “found” when coming into office. So with austerity and this massive black hole, where will the money come from? Well, it’s simple. The government will sell some more bonds. So just like a mortgage, the cost to the tax payer will be considerably more than the amount raised to ‘loan’ to the Ukies. It will be £2.5 billion plus ten years of interest. Good for the banking system as it allows the banks to make money for doing nothing and it is government bonds, with zero risk. Bad, of course, for the tax payer. Perhaps most of that 2.5 billion will come back (no pun intended here in reference to back-handers) to the likes of BAE and other friends of the ruling class. I’m also pretty sure that there will be lots and lots of back-handers in cash, leaving Ukraine in diplomatic bags. So, win win for the banks, their corrupt political supporters, and the MIC and as usual, loose loose for the tax payer.
And a PS. The money will help ensure a little more destruction of Ukraine. In theory, then Blackrock can grab more assets and Haliburton will have more rebuilding to do. Or so the Western thinking goes. I doubt they’ll get a look in, but that’s just my opinion!
