Trump’s 'Board of Peace' is the nail in Gaza’s coffin - Jonathan Cook

This is not so much a good article (though in itself it’s a very good article) as a long list of obvious outrages - any handful of which should have been enough for a sane international community to reject this, bluntly and simply.

If you attempt to list these outrages (which roughly fall into the category of ‘Unlimited powers given to genocidal warmongers’ and ‘Zero concern for the Palestinians and their genocide’), you end up with pretty much the whole article. A list might have been even more effective due to its referential value.
Not least because few of Cooks’s devastating points are featuring in media coverage, which happily focuses on protagonists, personalities and operational detail, like how the elephant in the room will be dressed.

The fact that some countries’ reactions have been negative should not be allowed to obscure the fact that in realiy there is no serious pushback against this.
It seems to have been given legal effect by the UN security council vote in November, though the plan was passed as a ‘peace plan for Gaza’, rather than the lifetime power and real estate grab by Trump that the BoP seems to be.

For example, France who in declining to join the - farcially named - BoP raise issues of international law and respect for the United Nations role, did not veto the proposal in November, which would have scuppered its adoption. Similarly, neither did Britain, which in a pathetic nod to its own liberals, now states that it would not join the BoP because … Putin had been invited. When or if Putin (who also could have vetoed the November resolution) refuses his BoP invitation, the UK can then come in, when the headlines about the ludicrous powers the BoP and Trump cohort will have will have slipped down the news stories.

Of course, high up in the rankings of those who will exert personal influence is mass Arab-slaughterer Tony Blair; who as Cook points out is ideally suited for the role of rendering the permanent suppression of Palestinians - and their almost complete erasure of consideration in respect to what was Gaza - permanent.
