Sauce for the gander. The programme Rogue Traders often featured a âdodgy dealerâ running away from the BBC cameraperson calling them a liar or a crook.
A man has been charged withâŚnot being very nice, or something.
Nicholas Watt: Man charged after BBC journalist abused and chased by anti-lockdown protesters
âMartin Hockridge, 57, is accused of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards another person with the intention to cause them harassment, alarm or distress.â
Why are charges about minor offences allowed to be wrapped in inneundo referring to real offences?
âMr X is charged with committing an offence on the scale of 1 or 2 orâŚor 10.â
This is so that minor offences can be punished without the public complaining, because they donât know what the offence was but think it might have been serious because the serious offence that is glued on as part of the charge kept being mentioned.
Incidentally:
"âŚThe force was criticised after initially saying that officers âwere not in the immediate vicinity of the incidentâ, despite widely-shared footage showing officers at the scene.
So this was a complete lie, routinely uttered from the police. Would it be offensive to shout âliarsâ?
Maybe the police didnât wanât to admit that they didnât think that in being held to account for his willing aquiescence in crimes against the public, the BBC man was actually being abused.
RT used the same sort of headline, and the hashtag #horrifying was used to make this utter non incident into yet more evidence of the bullying covid deniers. Iâve watched the clip three times and itâs so obvious that the cleanshirt bloke is darting about drawing attention to himself, back and forth between lines of cops whose only function is to dissuade the (very sparsely distributed) âmobâ from getting within catcalling distance of Number 10.
The thug is so archetypally the scruffy agitprop cutout that you have to suspect heâs a plant. Itâs all about as convincing as the bog roll melee of March 2020. (In other words the fight videos that nudged the nominally sane into buying a yearâs worth of Andrex, fusilli, cornflakes and self raising flour all at once).
I like the guy freaking out because of the lack of religious freedom! Even outside of the virus Soâton Unitary Authority have stopped all Sunday bus services to the council estate I live onâŚclearly this is overly restrictiveâŚweâre (SO18 Local Hub), are pressing them on thisâŚmany denominations, places of worship are on the other side of the riverâŚno matter what you think of religious institutions people have a right to worshipâŚand others should also be able to attend communal events in the city on SundaysâŚWhat are our councils at?

I watched the whole thing as it streamed live - the BBC character, upon exiting the controlled media pen across the rd from No.10, was approached by the GB Resistance bloke - Watt mistook GBR for GBN - GBR then asked Watt whether or not he was ashamed of the BBCâs ignoring the massive turn out for the earlier immense anti-lockdown protest - Watt then began ducking and weaving between the 3 lines of police in attendance - he was being pursued and decried loudly by several people - it was initially quite comical - indeed befitting of the Benny Hill chase theme tune - I would say that at least 50 police observed the chase. The guy arrested did not lay a finger on Watt - he just sidled alongside and harangued â it was another geezer who barged into Watt and chested him into the railing as he fled.
So in effect, 50 police have already given their view.
YetâŚâThe Metropolitan Police launched an investigation after reviewing the footage and identifying a number of possible offences.â
Identifying possible offences? Dredging up a charge, more like.
