I had the unfortunate experience of watching BBC ‘news’ this evening. I was having dinner with my mother, who being of the elderly generation tends to watch the BBC (although my mother is as much of a covid sceptic as I am).
The demos today were part of ‘World Freedom Day’, which involved protests in more than 100 countries, all against lockdowns and the covid nonsense (and it is patent nonsense to anyone who can be bothered to look into it).
World Freedom Day involved more than 40 protests in towns and cities across the UK. The biggest one was in London, where many 10s of thousands of people marched in front of the BBC HQ to vent their spleen.
Without batting an eyelid, BBC news bulletins have reported these protests as being about what’s going on in Palestine.
Here’s some brief clips of the protest in London today…
I wasn’t in London but from one video it seems as though there were 2 protests in London - one against lockdown and one against Israel.
Doesn’t the weekend have 2 days, what is wrong with these organisers? No mention of lockdown protest in any of the papers as reviewed by sky like bbc, only with sky they didn’t mention any protest at all if I recall correctly!
Well it’s certainly useful to our State Broadcaster to be able to blur the truth, shall we say. They probably won’t have their buildings bombed to bits by the IDF either.
World Freedom Day was planned quite some time ago whereas the protests backing Palestine are much more spontaneous. Quite why Sunday couldn’t have been chosen I don’t know. One theory: Aren’t organisers obliged to beg permission for such events? Denied the chance of tucking into his Sunday roast I expect Johnny Jackboot would be likelier to deny permission and threaten (in the very nicest Chief Constable-ese) some hippy head cracking.
Coverage fairly comprehensive on Telegram channels and including South Africa, Portugal, Switzerland and numerous other places. Some chit chat on Twitter but drowned out by footy and the geegees as per.
“We are all Palestinians now”… remember at the start of this nonsense there was a tweet around from someone in Gaza which just said “how’s the Lockdown?”
Sadly it doesn’t seem to have got through, as reporters talk about the attacks cutting of power and electricity and hospital services as if those existed before. But the Palestinians in Gaza will remain better informed than us even without any media… Hopefully some will also realise that worrying about COVID is like worrying about having nowhere to brush your teeth as you face another night in the dark listening to Israeli bombs going off and people screaming…
Well the wretched Israelis will at least know that since they are vaccinated they don’t have to worry about getting too close to others in their bomb shelters and breathing the same foul air…
I found this to be an interesting clip from yesterday’s Freedom March in London. The bus driver made no mention of BLM, or all the rest of it. He was showing his support of freedom for everyone…
