The democracy (sic) we all live in

I’ve started a new thread even though there is one existing on the same subject, but is is two and half years old. So here is a story about Sarah Wilkinson, a free Gaza flotilla British citizen. I find it hard to even find words to describe her treatment by British police (no doubt trained by Nazis from the Middle East). It’s video on George Galloway and even he is speechless! Watch from 30 minutes in.

Fifteen minutes after posting the above, I watched UK Column News from Friday last. The 1st 30 minutes were devoted to 3 more cases showing the same as the above; gross overreach of the “democratic” state of Britain.

Thanks for these @PatB.

So as well as the clearly deliberate persecution of Sarah Wilkinson, the state is reaching out - or rather in - to persecute Drs speaking the truth about the genocide in Palestine; and lawyers challenging secret detentions are themselves being detained under the Terrorism legislation that they are challenging.

In the case of the Dr, the GMC is in on the act. Despite admitting (following Israeli pressure over two years apparently) the Dr had not broken any rules they have instigated moves behind the scenes agains her for the same behaviour (aka speaking out against genocide) they officially noted did not amount to anything illicit.

George W Bush was right. They hate our freedoms, lol…he must simply have been referring to the warmongery USuk governments.

But isn’t it interesting how the other arms of the state get so willingly involved in politicized (and rights-busting) government attacks on its own citizens.

Blimey, E, you find it “interesting”?? I trust you are using irony here. I bloody hope so!

Or you could read the whole thread Alan

Some good news here folks!

If short of time I suggest try 55.40 and again at 1.00.41 when Sarah comes out.

Next stop is the Crown Court - Central Criminal Court - on 14th November.

LIVE! Sarah Wilkinson’s court support outside Westminster Magistrate’s Court, PART 2

Sorry, which bit did I miss? (I think you may have overlooked the fact that my post was a reply only to you.)

To be clear, I think the fact that ‘other arms of the state get so willingly involved in politicized (and rights-busting) government attacks on its own citizens’ is outrageous, contemptible, sinister, ominous and also predictable; after all, the fuckers behind the state have had hundreds of years in which to establish the tentacles of social control . . .
I’d like to think you could pretty much agree with this but I’m sure you’ll correct me if I’m wrong!

As for ‘interesting’, I don’t share this, dare I say, somewhat ‘ivory tower’ perspective (unless of course you were using irony) hence my little cri de coeur.

No, the point I was making is that the thread was a discussion about the intrusions made by our democracy. I was pointing out the various institutions that are collaborating in the persecution of people publicly and legitimately criticising government policy.

You can tell my attitude to this from the rest of my post.
Why don’t you post your own criticism of what’s going on in the world - you don’t have to wait for me to use the wrong word you know :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi E

Not sure what ‘intrusions made by our democracy’ means (unless there are some missing quote marks and another irony alert!) Anyway, here’s my latest ‘criticism of what’s going on in the world’ as requested:

Then again, I may be accused of stating the bleeding obvious, after all, most posters here pretty much get just about everything, don’t you think? Feel free to cast a stone! Better still, lets settle for resisting the evil that’s upon us as comrades.

Hi Alan

“Not sure what ‘intrusions made by our democracy’ means (unless there are some missing quote marks and another irony alert!) Anyway, here’s my latest ‘criticism of what’s going on in the world’ as requested:”

Not sure what the difficulty is here. I simply mean intrusions by the “other arms of the state” (as you say yourself) meaning as well as the goverment, the police courts professional medical associations. Acting out those outrageous government pretences.

No irony present, or irony alerts missing. I agree with all of your adjectives, but not that they should be attached in some way to an implied denial on my part.

Yes, I started by calling it out. Resisting also means calling things out for those not tuned into less obvious politics (and media bias), as opposed to calling out each other for perceived language issues (who benefits from that I wonder?).

Thanks for explaining.
