Putin warns Russia is ready to hit Europe
If the European countries were to join Ukraine’s missile and drone offensive directly then the conflict between the West and Russia would have got completely beyond all bounds. We would indeed be in a situation of all out war. The Russians would be obliged in fact to retaliate and we could indeed at that point find ourselves in a WW3 situation. What Putin is doing is he’s reminding the West and mostly the Americans of this fact. He’s telling them that look we know exactly what you are doing. We know how deeply involved with Ukraine you actually are. But do understand that this is the line that you must never cross. If you start conducting direct strikes against us from NATO territory then it’s WW3. We will at the very least have to make retaliatory strikes against you and you don’t want to be put in that position because if you are, you are either going to be forced to back down and will be utterly humiliated or you will have to counter escalate in which case the whole situation will spiral out of control and we will indeed be in WW3.
