Mattias Desmet with a crucial layout of what’s happening with this - literally - insane process which is engulfing the Western world. Comparable, as Mattias asserts quite soberly, with the madness that overtook much of the world in the 1930s. The details of his exposition fit closely with what we’re observing right now.
This is the interview that Dan Gregory advertised a few days ago in his Pandemic Podcasts, but now simply released on YT, without any upfront money charge to see it. My negative hunch about Dan alleviates a little! 
This interview which he’s set up is important enough to cut him some slack.
Mattias details the alarming process by which what he calls ‘mass formations’ happen. He also offers two vital observations:
One being that the resistance, usually hovering around thirty percent of the populace who renege from the mad story getting sold by the propaganda machine, is crucial, and that it’s of paramount importance that we - I hope that pronoun is comfortable for all reading this! - go on resisting the madness actively, and continue to argue it down all we can, since this, by providing an active opposition, actually prevents the emerging totalitarianism from going completely berserk and causing another holocaust, as they tend to do once all opposition has been extinguished.
The other is that the history of psychopathic mass-formations assures that they ALWAYS destroy themselves in the end. But every bit of resistance helps to bring that outcome on more swiftly. Basically, ground for not despairing!
Mattias details the psychological conditions - visibly present in much of Western society right now - which are conducive to people being lured into joining the delusion bubble that leads to mass psychopathy formations. Many will grasp at once how accurate his observations are in our time. He also points out that as well as the thirty percent who don’t buy into the delusion there is another approximately forty percent who are reachable by counter-arguments based on hard facts and reason, and that these, rather than the incorrigibly deluded remaining thirty percent, are the people to whom we need to go on speaking. They will respond to sober reality, in the end.
