I wasn’t sure whether to put it under Technology or War and Conflict!
Prime Minister sets out blueprint to turbocharge AI
Snip:
“In a marked move from the previous government’s approach, the Prime Minister is throwing the full weight of Whitehall behind this industry by agreeing to take forward all 50 recommendations set out by Matt Clifford in his game-changing AI Opportunities Action Plan.”
And here’s Matt Clifford below in June 2023

I guess we’ll have to defeat the Chinese at this game. I have to say that the new DeepSeek model looks interesting. I’ve got some raspberry pi’s kicking around. Might have a look…
How The Chinese Beat Trump And OpenAI
The hype around Artificial Intelligence, the now failed U.S. attempt to monopolize it, and the recent counter from China are a lesson in how to innovate. They also show that the U.S. is losing the capability to do so.
I was expecting this reaction to be honest. What else can they say but China is cheating somehow. Their cars are too cheap, their products are too cheap and now their AI is too cheap.
This concluding statement in your link says it all about “expert advisors” :
“You can imagine AI curing diseases, making the economy more productive, helping us get to a carbon neutral economy,” he said.
Of course a carbon neutral economy is easy for non-breathing, eating machines - they don’t need to be concerned about maintaining or improving carbon dioxide levels for plants and trees (and hence living
organisms including humans ) - and of course the added advantage is that AI fits snugly inside the eugenic plans of the establishment to cut back on the useless eaters!
"V. The EPA’s Proposed Rule Failed to Consider Four Critically Important Aspects and
Relevant Data.
There is overwhelming scientific evidence that CO2 and fossils fuels provide enormous
social benefits for the poor, the United States, people worldwide and future generations; that
reduction to Net Zero would be a worldwide disaster; and that there is no significant risk that CO2
and fossils fuels will cause catastrophic warming and extreme events. EPA fails to consider all of
this evidence, in violation of State Farm and the scientific method.
A. EPA Failed to Consider CO2’s Essential-to-Life Social Benefits.
CO2 Is Essential to Food and Thus to Life on Earth.
CO2 is the basis for nearly all life on earth.27 We owe our very existence to green plants
that, through photosynthesis, convert CO2 and water to carbohydrates and oxygen with sunlight.
Land plants get the carbon they need from the CO2 in the air. Other essential nutrients—water,
nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, etc.—come from the soil. In turn, livestock depend on the
availability of green plants to consume, so that humans can consume the livestock. Without CO2,
there would be no photosynthesis, no food and no human or other life."

Looking at the failure to build international safety norms and regulations into these new technologies is just a global holocaust waiting to happen. We won’t even have the opportunity to pull the plug if they build their own nuclear plants - isn’t anyone in their industry and our governments able to see this?
