Hi CJ. From the comments, many people are finding this difficult to follow. When you click on the ONS link you see Jan-Dec and then Jan-Oct. I think you need to open the Jan-Oct file, not the Jan-Dec. The Jan-Dec version doesn’t give the child age groups.
However once you open Jan-Oct, download the spreadsheet and open Table 9 using the tab at the bottom, you see it’s a table of straight counts of deaths, ie not ‘deaths per 100,000 population’.
There are more deaths in the unvaccinated, presumably as that population is much higher. Somehow from this they calculate rates per 100,000. I think you’d need to be up for a jigsaw to figure this out.
There may be a clever subtraction involved using the December data but the Expose haven’t explained what they did. There have been queries that met with a tart response. Maybe the Expose are a bit peeved that not enough people support them financially.
BTW the first table shown in the article, monthly data from May, is from Table 7 in the spreadsheet. This might give a clue, but it’s too much of a mystery. There’s other interesting data in the spreadsheet, but looks like it would take time to understand.
Worth keeping an eye on to see if any elucidation appears!
