I don’t get PCR’s nuclear point, surely if Iran had tried to ‘finish the job’ (eliminating the rest of the US bases, and pummeling Israel, as opposed to standing defiant and waiting), that would not have made the US use of the nuclear option less likely?

PCR’s view all along is that Iran should have kept going when they were winning the fight with the US & Israel. They should have beaten the crap out of them then instead of hanging around for some bullshit US fake ceasefire or whatever you might want to call it. Iran could have wiped the floor with the US & Israel ending the war early on instead of prolonging it for months. His views on the Ukraine war are very similar. I.e. because the Russians took so long over Ukraine Putin has caused the war to widen out into Europe. It’s interesting that Putin has recently stepped on the gas big-time turning Ukraine into a landlocked country probably forever. I imagine PCR is delighted with this? Putin himself has said many times that if there’s sure to be a fight then hit first. Because of all these mistakes, if that’s the right word, the enemy are now seriously considering using nukes because they’ve used up all their weapons in Ukraine and have got nothing else left to fight with. Their only sane alternative is to withdraw but sanity no longer exists it seems!
