Oliver Stone

It was in the 1980’s that I first noticed that a lot of the films that I really liked, Midnight Express, Scarface, Year of the Dragon, Salvador, Platoon etc, were directed by Oliver Stone; the common denominators was that they were very emotionally intense & political; on that latter point, it wasn’t a surprise that Oliver Stone later became a very out-spoken political activist, and that his newer films include Snowden & Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.

This is to introduce this very nice book review of the first volume of his autobiography called “Chasing the Light”, which sounds like a must read ;

Looks interesting. Did you ever see South of the Border?

Be interested in your opinion, if you saw it.

No, not yet, but it’s on my hit list; I think he makes great documentaries as well as movies.

Welcome @PatB. I thought it was very good, and like @Poster123 I am sad at how things have turned out since that film…

Hasta la victoria siempre!
