No reason at all (The Lark Ascending)

I could rant and rave until the sun comes up, and probably beyond.

‘Chilling out’ means different things for different people. This piece of music always does it for me. I’ve probably explained the background to this composition in another post on this board. Suffice to say The Lark Ascending was written by Vaughan Williams in 1914. The piece was inspired by George Meredith’s poem of the same name about the skylark. Vaughan Williams composed parts of The Lark Ascending whilst watching troop ships cross the English Channel at the outbreak of the First World War,

Didn’t the Presstitutes tell us that WW3 was supposed to break out at 9am this morning?!

I even put my tin hat on.

As an aside, I’ve always found that cats really like classical music. I wish I could take a pic of my cat Herricka listening to the above track. Problem is, Herricka is very aloof, and black cats are a bugger to photograph.

My cat hates loud rock music, likes a bit of jazz, but really sits up and listens to classical stuff.

I’m going off on a bit of a tangent here, but why not…
