'No jab, No job' policies at work 'to spark deluge of legal claims from staff'

Not such a bad news report but trying to balance the unbalanceable gets it into contortions.

‘No jab, No job’ policies at work ‘to spark deluge of legal claims from staff’

What a great headline the first two lines would have made

“Employers have been urged to ensure “no jab, no job” policies that may be introduced do not discriminate against workers.”

Or how about “Police have been urged to ensure truncheons falling on heads do not cause pain”

The hand-wringing advice comes from the Equality and Human Rights Commission:

An EHRC spokesman said: "Employers are right to want to protect their staff and their customers, particularly in contexts where people are at risk, such as care homes.

“However, requirements must be proportionate, non-discriminatory and make provision for those who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons.”

How can discrimination be non-discriminatory?

The EHRC Making “provision for those who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons” clearly discriminates against those who do not have those ‘medical reasons’.

In squeezing out such a useless 'We are being sensible AND principled (a bit) about this" statement the EHRC shows it’s not worth the candle.
