Routinely happening in the US, though one solitary parent in Virginia has achieved a reversal in their own child’s sports league.
I didn’t realize biometric child data was even being collected. No great surprise that it is already being exploited.
That’s the US. What about the UK?

So the (alleged) good news is that it should be better protected than the shining morality model of the US.
The real news - the bad news - is that child data is collected at all.
Protecting children is a good notion, who could argue with that - but the children will soon be adults, whose rights will already have been forever removed (and their details held as ‘assets’ apparently) before they even had a say in the matter.
The Virginia parent noted:
There are “no guardrails” when it comes to what companies can do with kids’ data. “Because once they have it, someone else has it. It’s not yours anymore,”
