The rot spreads from the ‘news’ progs to the cultural ones!
Michael’s guest today was Dr. Rachel Clarke. Very evidently an excellent soul (no sark intended!): a specialist in care for those in hospices for the dying; a dedicated healer and helper; good wife and mother; painfully aware of the “hundreds of medical personnel who have died of covid” (autopsy reports not stated: ‘Of’ or ‘with’?); a prolific published author, who’s already published a book on covid (that was quick! considering the onerous workload that she’s been describing); and latterly an active campaigner for better protection for NHS staff, and better overall resourcing of the NHS so that it’s better able to cope with these - repeating - flu-season emergencies (excellent ideas! and again, no sark).
But then comes the - absolutely, nakedly obvious - feed line from Michael: “And this has been earning you a lot of online abuse, I believe?”
Whereat Rachel launches into a lurid account of horrible verbal abuse, including “threats of violence”, “rape threats”, “death threats” [sic]; and all coming from these groups “who insist covid is a hoax” - though as far as I remember she didn’t actually trot out the heavily loaded word ‘denier’, with its instant echoes of that subject. They weren’t quite that cheeky, though the implication was hovering there portentously, in the air: These vile ghouls should be slapped down good and hard - by law! [And no of course that wouldn’t be censorship; just common decency!]
No hint of any counter-narrative, of course. Michael, a long-time favoured beeb trusty like his father Lennox before him, decides which matters his series will touch, and which pass over in silence, and choreographs the dialogues accordingly. No hint of any judicious balancing of alternative stories this time…
Rachel finished - after another feedline prompt from Michael - by saying how grateful she was to have had her first shot of ‘vaccine’, and averring that she just couldn’t understand how anyone could refuse it, to make us all safe, after the brilliant scientific work which had been done to get it to us in such a short time…
Yeah, exactly Rachel! Your understanding of vaccines is probably more professionally knowledgable than mine, yet you can say that about these thoroughly unproven, un-safety-assured injectables?
But then, clearly, she’s bought the panic-prop. hook, line and sinker. As have a fair-sized tranche of all medical personnel, I surmise; though obviously, not all of them. Not the thousands who’ve signed the Great Barrington Declaration, for example.
WTF is steering this delusional mass madness? Clearly not covid itself, which - horrible illness though it is - doesn’t in the smallest degree support the current omni-shambles.
Could it be Loki, taking the piss…?
