I agree Pat. He can be excruciating at times! But overall I think he’s done a great job in presenting the facts on the ground in the US/UK/Russian/Ukraine war over the last three years. At least he’s honest, dedicated, always admits his mistakes, has a good knowledge of history and has good contacts. In the video I posted above he is perhaps at his best, sticking to the subject without the sometimes endless repetitions and blathering! Worth the time IMO as these recent and stunning events in Ukraine appear to signify a major turning point in the war and hopefully the beginning of the end of it.
Perhaps I’m not an optimist, but I can’t see anything in the short term of a change of attitude by the Western leaders. If anything, there is a doubling down of rhetoric by Mertz, Kallas, Fond-of-Lying, and Rutte. Of course, Starmer and Macron stand in the background trying to be the tough guys, and yet the Russians have not moved one inch from their initial position, which IMHO is fully justified. What I am saying is I can’t see any short term ending of the conflict.
Perhaps the ending none of us want to contemplate is with the complete financial collapse of the US, France, the UK, and Germany, which certainly (again, only my opinion) seems to be coming sooner than any other end to the conflict.
No, me neither. But it’s looking very February 1945 right now. Ukies are now sending valuable special forces out as infantry and rumour control says there’s approximately 6 ukies per KM on front lines.
Sad thing is, slow suits this war. The west is bleeding as the Russians slowly move towards them.
Well, that’s three of us that aren’t optimists then.
It’s been a war of attrition since day one which is why the war has been slow. The Russians concentrated on killing as many Ukrainian soldiers as possible and destroying their equipment. Now there isn’t much left of either. So the Russians are moving forward much faster now.
The Ukrainians are retreating and losing two to three thousand troops per day. Just a few days ago the Russians trapped 11,000 Ukie troops in cauldrons. Less than a week or so back Ukraine suffered the biggest blow so far when the Russians shut down the electricity for the whole of Ukraine in a massive onslaught of drones and missiles. Petrovsk collapsed at the same time more or less and is now in the hands of the Russians. Western leaders are living in a fantasy world. All they have is rhetoric and little in the way of weapons or money to fight a war with.
I agree with local “…it’s looking very February 1945 right now”.
