yes. There was some talk that the lefty candidate - Rothery - might stand as an indy. The labour party is such an omnishambles now it’s beyond pathetic.
It’s now the ex-Labour party, isn’t it: a hobby-farm for uni-grad, comfortably-off technocrat bourgeois trendies; just slightly rosé-tinted, tory-lites: Fraudian-sheep. To be abandoned to the same weary attenuation into irrelevance as the once-dominant Liberal party. More than half the Brit electorate, even in this spavined pretend-democracy, are now disenfranchised in Paedominster. The need, if electoral politics is ever going to achieve anything useful at all, is for a new grass-roots mass party, as old-Labour used to be, pre-B’Liar, pre-Callaghan.
