Max Igan latest

A good but scary post from Max.

Oz transport and supply chains breaking down and on the verge of collapse due to shortages of Ad Blue (due to run out by February which means the whole country may come to a standstill) and Urea, so no beer and food shortages just after xmas, some big demos, a “Chinese cyber attack” on the electricity supply, some really wierd shit @ 47mins18secs - a “tentacle parasite” wrapped around someone’s heart and a really great and true song at the end! (A new one on me anyway).

The Ice Age Farmer has done quite a bit on the importance of urea in fertiliser manufacture. Basically he has said fertiliser production will come to a complete stop, with of course, all the consequent effects on intensive agriculture.

Foretaste of the - enforced - switch to regenerative-agriculture and permaculture methods of both animal and vegetable food production, which is in our near future as a non-negotiable necessity, as fossil hydrocarbon supplies get ever more constrained; they being the major feedstock for artificial fertilisers.

Good thing that the recent pioneers of such sound, Gaia-harmonious ways of doing agriculture have demonstrated beyond any reasonable question that their methods are as food-productive as the industagri madness, and altogether safer and more innocent in their impact on the natural world.

Best to embrace and support these methods, through CSA food suppliers for example, just so that we-all can pass from the failed ‘Green Revolution’ blind alley towards actually-benign and sustainable forms of agri, without generating fully-avoidable famines.
