We measured means (SDs) between 13 120 (384) and 13 910 (374) ppm of carbon dioxide in inhaled air under surgical and filtering facepiece 2 (FFP2) masks, which is higher than what is already deemed unacceptable by the German Federal Environmental Office by a factor of 6. R.
Hi @Rich , I seem to recall seeing a post by Dan on TLN explaining his lectures on the value of masks in surgical settings showing there was no impact on air quality to the user. He did however include caveats - this was for a surgical environment ( with air quality controls) and the masks were “loose fitting” - both of which of course would never apply to the “man in the street” but these elements seemed to get lost in the discussion.
Seems the truth will ultimately come out in the end!
Sorry to be so cynical but that seems about right for Dan on TLN. “loose fitting” my foot. They are trained on proper fitting to make them effectively tight fitting. And the Colchester hospital study done on no mask in surgery that I posted there a while back just got me a load of abuse but no counter arguments.
