Long read: How have COVID-19 vaccines been developed so fast?

Interesting data for those taking a long hard look at all this vaccine biz. I, personally, hasn’t realised how long these vaccines had already been in development.

Really not sure what to make of that…

From the following paragraph within the article…

“There are still things we need to know about these new vaccines, such as whether there are any long term side effects and how long immunity lasts. But the results from clinical trials so far - together with previous clinical trials of the same types of vaccines - suggest that the they are very safe, with only mild short term side effects such as a sore arm, tiredness or headaches.”

…one line stands out to me: "suggest that the they are very safe". Which could be interpreted as reckless optimism as regards long-term safety. There is no other way to find this out other than observing over a longer period.

As regards short-term outcomes following the vaccine, already the CDC are reporting 3,150 “Health Impact Events” out of 112,807 “Registrants with recorded 1st dose” as of Dec 18th. https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/acip/meetings/downloads/slides-2020-12/slides-12-19/05-COVID-CLARK.pdf which represents 2.79%.

Of course this is made a hundred times worse of it really is the case that Ivermectin is effective at both prevention and treatment of C19…
