BBC article headline is “Covid: Medical staff ‘distressed’ by third wave”. They quote a doctor saying “we are planning for war but praying for peace” and she went on to paint a bleak picture of exhausted and distressed staff. The joke (sic) is that in the NHS Trust this was refering to, there was not 1 Covid death in the last 76 days! Perhaps they ‘discovered’ hydroxychloroquine!

Yes that was the best bit of Fridays UKC news, and Towny has some other excellent stuff.
Mike Robinson made a real hash of the Statutory Instrument mandating jabs for care home staff though (on the 14 July edition). He presented the clauses 5 (c) and onward as though they extend the mandate to people such as contractors carrying out essential repairs whereas they are very clearly exceptions.
