As Britain and the world’s situation generally is so (choose your own adjective) depressing, frightening, infuriating, unbelievable, I thought that a good joke to start the day might help to lighten the mood a little.
So here is a short video (6 mins with the punchline at 2 mins), and I can’t reveal the punchline, but a clue is in the video title.
At first I thought the same.as @PatB but now it seems more like a neatly poised, multi-message masterclass laced in wry humour, an almost pisstaking rebuff.
Just imagine Vance trying to explain to Trump what Putin really means. Where are Spitting Image when you need them - this conversation alone would be worth a special edition.
If there is any sense to Raging Bull’s initiatives it could lie in a presumption that Russia, if looking like getting its way at last in Ukraine, is going to lie low on his other supremely lawless outrages.
I guess we can also presume that to Russia, US acquisition of Greenland is less of a big deal than the possibility of the erosion or collapse of Nato.
But it’s Europe (and of course Gaza) the US is abusing. According to Patrick Henningsen, Denmark has responded to US ‘overtures’ by disinvesting from a $100m US pension fund, which could be an omninous sign of accelerating petrodollar problems to come. Also he told us the EU has taken a step towards opening a backchannel to Russia.
Haven’t finished this acclaimed interview with Henningsen, but it’s been good so far
It seems like Trump or the US are just unaware of the counterproductive potential of their bullying of their supposed allies. Sawing the branch on the wrong side of their backsides…
The wife was telling me yesterday about how Denmark makes 70% of Americans insulin and almost all of their ozempic weight loss junk. It’s also under review.
