Learning by doing, it’s the only way. And the School/University as the destroyer of spirit, Ideological State Apparatuses supreme, has now had many generations to perfect the tooling of the cogs.
I read somewhere that Sam Bankman-Fraud said that he never read books. If it can’t be captured in a six paragraph blog then what’s the point…? I paraphrase.
Whether this is true, or a humble brag about how jolly busy and important he is/was, I cannot say.
I could already read by the time I started school and was at least ten or so before the sheer exhilaration of finding stuff out was suppressed. Never crushed altogether, happily.
