Well there’s a shocker for Pharma USA - a real doctor not a career medical politician.
Why Jay Bhattacharya, Next Director of National Institutes Of Health, Opposed Covid Lockdowns
Excerpts from an April 2020 interview with the doctor and professor at Stanford University who has been appointed to serve as director of the NIH by US president-elect Donald Trump
I regard Brownstone as being close to the mark on Covid. There’s a lot of dark money behind the trashing of the GBD - which emails later showed, was commissioned by Fauci immediately the GBD hit the press. They needed a “devastating takedown”. But it was the people that got it, not their arguments. Case in point, this is a hit piece induced by the panicky politics as the whole sickness gravy train is under threat. Quoting David Gorski (Science Based Medicine) isn’t a good sign.
I saw a lot to disagree with, but just to respond to one thing, the writer setting out his “just to be fair” argument (keeping to 2020) soon goes off into evidence from a 2023 paper that stems from after 2021. Immunity from Covid was very strong in 2020 before the variants had…varied . Peter McCullough said in 2020 there were no confirmed cases of getting covid twice and the ones claimed were probably due to a false positive. Variants (but probably more the vaccine) changed that.
The attempts to shoot down JB’s credentials are a little transparent, when he had other solid medical backing. He cites “Respectful Insolence” separately, but that’s David Gorski too. DG mainly does adhom hit pieces.
It has to be borne in mind that the the lockdowns had zero evidence. They were also based on the idea that covd was spreading among the population due to asymptomatic transmission, to me it was people with symptoms. But it soon emerged that the covid was spread mainly in hospitals and care homes which is why the harmful lockdowns made little difference.
