Some hopeful, peaceable strategies for persuading police personnel to follow their consciences rather than orders from above, when they’re told to do things with which they disagree privately, as matters of justice and legality. This initiative corresponds closely to Chris Hedges’ accounts of his observation of how tyrannical governments fall when faced with mutiny amongst their enforcement formations - police and military. It’s also a peace-promoting and bridge-building strategy between humans. As Howard says, it’s encouraging police and military personnel to re-embrace their supposed - and in many cases actually preferred - role as heroic protectors of the public, rather than assisting politicians - and their oligarch owners - in oppressing us.
