In Warwick hospital yesterday and the day before: Situation normal; no sweat

People going briskly about their work, as usual. No rush, no hectic scenes, no ambulance queues, not many ambulances about at all, in fact; no bodies on trollies in corridors, apart from one guy who was being transported by a porter.

Had a hypodermic in my eye for the first time ever, for age-related macular degeneration; about standard for my age group. Promptly seen at my appointment time, out in an hour, no sweat. Wonderful NHS working normally in fact: staff there so grateful for my enthusiastic expressions of support. But sure as hell no hectic covid overload.

Glad everything went well RG. Were you able to ask anyone about the covid ward? As you know, they don’t mix covid and non-covid patients together in the same spaces.

Or was the covid ward empty too?

Needles in the eye? Yikes! Think I’ll pass on that for the time being!

Don’t know about any special covid ward. People whom I asked said things were about normal for the time of year. No sign of any overwhelm.
