In case your may have picked up a touch of infection with the current NATOstan hysteria about Afghanistan, Pepe E offers a prophylactic

regarding the new Taliban; quite different from the 2001 Taliban against whom the US and under-curs aggressed on the 11/9 excuse - and whom they have failed abysmally to conquer: sandalled, Kalashnikov-bearing guerrillas against the ‘invincible’ techie-techie ‘might’ of the failing empire! Hah!

Pepe, who has travelled the region extensively and who has met many of the key players personally, offers an honest assessment of the Taliban leaders’ recent presser, in contrast to what he calls the atrocious ‘translations’ getting pushed by the NATOstan interests.

The prospect seems to be of a movement which has learned how to do islamic-state government in a rather more cannily inclusive way, on the Iranian model, with no persecution of women, or revenge against erstwhile enemies, as the Pashtunwali honour code might demand.

Also, of course, a movement speaking affably with Russia, China and all their ASEAN satellite states, and preparing reconstruction and economic integration with them, to the richly-earned and deserved exclusion of the countries in, or allied to, the Anglozionist empire. Burble on, Geriatric Joepuppet! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

At one level I cant help wondering if this shiny new Twitter-friendly Taliban is just as much a USA brand as the oldie bad oh so very bad Taliban were?

This was interesting:

On the key issue of opium/heroin: the Taliban will ban their production. So, for all practical purposes, the CIA heroin rat line is dead.

If so then actual physical greenback style “dollar dollar bills yo” are less likely to be needed, no? Which given the fairly blatant crash landing of economies, and the prospect of flight to CBDC pretty soon, would make sense.

(I’ve read some discussions among the cryptocurrency Stans predicting a major bank collapse and/or the Visa system going belly up. Buy gold, salt, mules, etc, they are urging. NatWest seems the most likely to go, still State owned I think?)

I’ve only had time to fast read the Saker piece, but it seems there’s no mention of lithium in there (?).

Here’s a New York Times piece about the lithium deposits in Afghanistan…

If they don’t allow you to read the above link you can find a summary of it here…

According to the New York Times, a memo from the Pentagon predicted that Afghanistan will be the “Saudi Arabia of Lithium,” a way to assert that Afghanistan is able to exceed Bolivia as the first world producer of lithium. The economic impact of this mining discovery is simply enormous: the total reserves represent about 1,000 billion. The two main sources of lithium are hard rock sources in pegmatites and in solution within continental brines, both of which are present in Afghanistan. This might become the backbone of the Afghan economy. Although Afghanistan is recognized as a strategic hub in Central Asia, at the borders of the former Soviet Union, China and Iran at the crossroads of routes for pipelines and significant reserves of oil and gas natural, its enormous mineral wealth and its untapped natural gas reserves have remained completely unknown.

Lithium is used to make the batteries for your mobile phone, and most other computing devices.

And yes, Afghanistan also produces 90% of the world’s opium.

I’ll remember that next time I’m smoking opium and using a mobile phone.

Just joking: I have neither an opium pipe or a mobile phone.

I must be one of the few people left on the planet that does not have an opium pipe/mobile phone.

Snap!

Somehow, I can’t quite believe that the chaos-ridden, bankrupt, collapsing Anglozionist empire is playing some sort of ultra-subtle 3-D chess game with the Afghans. Check your wild-conspiracy level indicator!

The simpler, realworld explanation appeals here, if only because of Occam’s Razor:

USAmerica has finally lost it’s long losing war against Afghanistan, and is being driven out. Russia, China and local friends are stepping in - it is their back-yard, after all - and they’re reorganising the whole shebang. The present-day Tali have learned a few things since the Western aggression against them began, and - with Chinese and Russian tutelage - they’re playing a cannier game. They’re absolutely going to need help from someone to get their land back on its feet again. And of course the gics running the Az empire aren’t going to do that. They never do. So it will be the rising empires in the North and East.

USAmerica no longer has the means to conduct long-distance thug-interference in other people’s countries with any chance at all of success. They can no longer even hold their own country together. Their - always hallucinatory - ‘world dominance’ is over. It’s just that the wilfully-delusional boneheads in the Swamp haven’t realised it yet. Hallelujah!!

Hmmm. Mine is under one of these piles of notes, I’m sure, somewhere, maybe those ones in the green ink…
