On the contrary, ‘TLTG’ and ‘TLTG – The Thirty-Year Update’ have proven themselves since the publication of the first report in 1972 to be probably the most reliable projection available of what is actually happening, up to now.
It’s important to distinguish between the Meadows team who produced the report, and the sponsor, the Club of Rome, which was and is one of the ‘stakeholder’ bunches of crooks whom you quite rightly excoriate. Dennis Meadows and his colleagues, otoh, were still able to operate at that time as honest scientists, and they did so. Btw, it was Donella Meadows who actually wrote the original book, from the team’s accumulated conclusions.
It needs to be seen with the starkest clarity that the villainies which the ‘stakeholder’ – execrable coinage! – gangs are attempting to foist on us are quite separate from the geo-eco-physical processes which are happening to us quite independently of ANY attempted manipulations by ANY groups of humans; and which will, for example, have pretty well cured spontaneously our current population-overshoot episode by – most probably – the end of this century, or sometime in the first half of the next. The eugenicist crooks can go fuck themselves, because the reduction, as it occurs, will take zero account of their selective-breeding wet dreams. The usual impersonal evolutionary processes will take all that out of our hands, as the overshoot corrects automatically.
Clearly, collectively-ultra-feckless humankind aren’t going to do anything effective about this, any more than we’ll do anything effective about climate shift – even if we still could, which is highly questionable by now, beyond just alleviating the worst effects a little. Yet these crises will be resolved, by the Earth doing what it always does in these circumstances, and a new balance will be struck; as has happened often before, reaching back into the remote past of the planet.
I applaud your insightful laying bare of the coteries of crooks who make up the conspirators behind the covid swindle. It was always obvious that some such network of criminals was pushing it: so clearly coordinated throughout – at least – the Anglozionist empire and its dependencies as it is; and with the vast propaganda blizzard, also obviously coordinated, that’s pushing it. Your map makes clear just how it’s done – completely outwith any pretence of democratic advice and consent. Kudos in spades for that, Iain. But do get your understanding straight about ‘TLTG’. That actually has very little to do with the maunderings of the neo-feudalist criminals trying right now to stampede us all into the bum’s rush.

Note in particular Dennis’s remarks about the essential necessity of taking a long view of history, from about 46 minutes on. All the commentators who seem to me to have things right about the – inexorably-real – limits to growth always come from that perspective. It’s a great clearer-away of airy-fairy fashionable memes-of-the-moment, of zero depth and zero predictive power…
