I was sorely tempted to copypaste Dmitry O's latest paywalled post. Now, thankfully, it's on general release:

Kind of icky, no? Will Dmitry be live-tweeting from the frontline or has he been conscripted to the 15th Chaise Longue Battalion? H/T to Riley, who includes a natty regimental badge.

Icky? No, I don’t get that.

He’s in his fifties. Past active service I imagine. Anyway, reading this somewhat complex piece, and blending it with all his other comments, I don’t think he believes, any more than do people like Mercouris, that there will be any big war in the Ukraine - though there may be some sort of quick slap-down operation if the delusionals there, and their delusional manipulators in NATO, try something on. Martyanov, Raevsky and Cassad have similar estimates.

But the US and its underlings have already made it clear that they won’t fight over the Ukraine, because they know they’ve nothing much in the locker with which to fight effectively - apart from some iffy, rather geriatric nukes of uncertain capability - and they won’t try anything with those, because they know keenly about Russia’s decidedly un-iffy, brand spanking new anti-missile missiles, and their nuclear annihilation weapons.

I tend to agree with Dmitry, that this is where the Swamp and it’s ramshackle empire gets its collective face rubbed in its own helpless fading-empire decrepitude, by the rising powers of Zone B. Don’t know quite how it will be done yet, but I’m watching in expectation of some good entertainment. Mostly by carefully Russian-eased ‘non-climb-down’ climb-downs, I imagine. I simply don’t believe that Putin and associates have triggered this showdown without a deeply-thought and prepared plan. They smell the West’s terminal weakness.

JMGreer’s ‘Twilight’s Last Gleaming’ suggests one possible scenario for the final killing of US ‘hegemony’, though it happens mainly in Africa, and is not entirely bloodless.

A little bit of leftover Christmas cheer…

Exactly

Que? [filler filler]

…not too old for the Sofa Battalion where the warmongers like to cheer from. The Slavsquat post is explicit about this.

Trading blows over Greater Detroit would be massively destabilising and destructive. This does not alter the obvious fact that NATO nukes are stationed and pointing straight at Russia. A line has had to be drawn. We await the outcome.

I don’t buy Orlov’s line that the US is a spent force. It is wishful thinking. It comes across as bar room rhetoric “Come outside and let’s have a PROPER discussion”. A pronounced limp as you shuffle to the saloon threshold makes your enemy think you will be easy to pummel.

That is the whole reason Biden is in Oval Office.

This is where our guesstimates differ, K. I suspect that the Anglozionist empire is indeed a spent force, tottering on the brink of USSR-style collapse, and heading further and further into terminal decrepitude with every month that passes; bit like me, in fact… :slightly_smiling_face:

Dmitry’s image of the vase full of shite poised on the very brink of a Humpty-Dumpty fall is spot on, I think. That fall almost happened in the Autumn of 2019, with the - barely-mentioned in the Western lamestream - bank repo crisis. It was “a damned close-run thing!” Humpty just managed to save that totter with his one and only response of printing increasingly-worthless fiat. But he can’t go on quaffing pain-killers as ‘treatment’ for a terminal illness. The great fall is imminent.

And over the past couple of years we’ve watched the now-failing attempt by the Western empire’s friends ‘Mr. Global’, as Catherine Austin-Fitts calls them, to run the covid scam - prematurely - in a panicked effort to grab widespread global power. That hasn’t helped the Azies an iota. If anything both the US and zionistan have actually accelerated their own fall, and zionistan’s dissolution, by their bone-headed embracing of the pandemic/poison-stabs racket.

Having watched VVPutin since his appearance on the scene, I absolutely don’t believe that he and colleagues in the Russian ruling establishment haven’t very carefully sussed out the real situation between the Azies and Russia/China, and they - the Russians and the Chinese - know that they now have a decisive upper hand in the rivalry between the West and themselves. It’s this combination of growing economo-industrial strength of the Eurasian bloc, plus the decisive advantage in weapons, particularly global-reach nuclear weapons (to which, for the time being, the West has absolute-zero answer), plus the ever more evident decrepitude of Az, which has decided Putin - and the bulk of the Russian establishment behind him - that now is the time to strike whilst the iron is white hot. China’s ruling establishment seems to concur too. And now oil/gas-swimming regional hegemon Iran is on board as well. (Joint Sino/Rus/Iranian naval exercises in - FFS! - the Gulf of Oman, now in train as a blatant smack-in-USAmerica’s eye sign of Iran’s integration into BRI/SCO/New Silk Road.)

The Swampies are going to have to wake up to reality. Maybe it will happen quietly, piecemeal, or maybe they will have to have some truly shocking, thoroughly discombobulating demonstration of the changed realities. But they will be forced to uncle, I think. That’s my bet, anyway. Eventually, with a lot of smoke-screening and pol-babble to save as much face as possible, the Russian red-lines will be accepted, de facto if not de jure.

Since, as Dmitry says, it’s a foregone conclusion that the Swampies are going to reject the Russian demand for guarantees and NATO withdrawals, it will be interesting to see just what shocks are in store for them; but the shocks are already baked and piping-hot ready, I suspect.

PS: Editing function seems to have gone on strike suddenly. Won’t accept small grammatical correction I wanted to do.

Whoops! Accepted it now…
