WTF - 2 million cases a day? Deaths at 6000 a day?

South Africa (60m population, similar to UK) hit 26,000 CASES a day, now falling.
It’s highest daily covid deaths was 54! Mostly in the 20s and 30s

Sage have come up with forecasts with upper ranges that are 100 x known reality.
And of course the line is that SA had the OMG variant because they had low vaccination
Yet we have the wonderful vaccine.
