Do you think that guys like that Sky ‘journo’ actually are that stupid that they believe what they say, or are they just blinded by ambition?

I don’t think it’s that simple.
I believe that some of them really are that stupid (and lazy). Others are just ignorant to varying degrees, a third lot know the truth but lie to keep in with the prevailing narative for personal gain to the point of even accepting bribes, small as well as large. A fourth lot stay mostly with the narrative but go out of their way to slip some truth in here and there when they can get away with it and lot five are people who tell the whole truth and get fired. Christina Borgesson’s Into the Buzzsaw springs to mind for this category. Then there’s Udo Ulfkotte who went along with all the bullshit for years but confessed on YT at the end when he was on his way out with cancer.
I don’t know whether the Sky “journo” knew about 2014 or not. He probably did but if I had to guess I’d say he wasn’t particularly interested in any of that and just wanted to trip Galloway up to please his masters like so many others have failed to do over the years.

Great summary. To me, he looked like just another Tarquin who thought he could outwit George G. and got a good hiding. Slow and measured, never successfully baited, but doubtless he and his ilk will keep trying.
