Hi @Everyman . Heard that what he said was we will be getting rid of the passe sanitaire. However, it will be replaced by a vaccination certificate. I got this second hand but sounds to me exactly like politicians double speak. Any comment?
Frankly I think after tomorrow they will be backing down quite quickly, but I hesitate to prophesy. But I follow the telegram channel and it’s incredibly active and people are going to Paris from all over France, and it’s the kind of ‘anarchist self organizing’ mass movement that’s impossible to police or control. Also, in every city tomorrow there will be bigger demos than usual in solidarity with the people who went in the convoy…that’s my prediction, I’m not sure what Veran acutally said in fact, they change quickly when the pressure is on though
Bonjour Everyman. From the clips I’ve seen today (Friday) on social media it looks like this is going to be mega. I suppose we will find out over the weekend.
If the divisive Pass Sanitaire/Vaccine policy is simply dropped then I suspect the volatile civil unrest situation in France might be quickly defused. However, Macron and his like minded cohorts are such blinkered prats, so full of their own importance that they cannot see the wood for the trees.
The violence used by the police is quite breathtaking, and it’s nothing new.
Paris today had one of the biggest recent demonstrations. Some say a million people were on the streets. Whatever the real figure is, looking at various clips it was certainly 100s of thousands.
Then there were all the protestors who the police prevented from getting into Paris…

Many of them will be heading to Brussels for a big demo on Monday, outside the EU headquarters; joined by people from many other EU countries.
The French police remind me of the UK football hooligans of the 80’s and 90’s. One difference is the football thugs arrived mostly with just their fists and boots and were happy to fight like that. The French police of course have full body armour, helmets, visors, battens and of course immunity from prosecution. Their colonial past and the use of the CRS in African countries especially Algeria, seems to have given them an air of complete carte blanche and disregard for real policing. Cowards the lot of them.
