A potentially important case for Pfizer’s 12-15 trial, which only had 1131 participants - obviously too small to reassure the world, or the USA, because even if there were no deaths it would be quite likely the true average was one or more, and that would translate to a lot across the USA.
But it’s not just about deaths. This is a Serious Adverse Reaction.
After a quick look at the definitions, this looks to me like a Grade 3 serious adverse reaction- defined by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as, “severe or medically significant but not immediately life-threatening; hospitalization or prolongation of hospitalization indicated; disabling; limiting self care” such as “bathing, dressing and undressing, feeding self, using the toilet, taking medications”?13.
So one notch below a Grade 4 (which is a life-threatening reaction), severely disabling.
According to the Pfizer study there were five Grade 3 events, 2.5 times the rate in the placebo group, which had two. Pfizer say they aren’t linked to the vaccine. But this one probably is, one day after the 2nd jab in a child that was healthy. I’m not sure if it’s even been classed as a grade 3 or not.
Obviously very distressing for the girl and her family; the other thing about this is that Pfizer and the FDA have downplayed it, which raises the question of how many more downgraded adverse reactions there are. Even the officially recorded rate of three per thousand (five minus the two reactions in the placebo group) seems a high price compared to the chances of children being that injured by covid.
