One thought crossed my mind - every government wants CBDCs and the associated digital ids, based on the public use of computers and smart phones, but what happens when people are fuel rationed, INCLUDING ELECTRICITY, how do they charge their phones or use their computers?!! If you don’t have continual access to electricity then you don’t have access to your money when it’s only in digital format!! No access to money, no purchases… bankruptcies by the hundreds of millions - DEPRESSION and STARVATION worldwide!!

I imagine that the juice will only go off for certain periods and not all the time? It reminded me of the miners strike - that’s what happened then. You never knew when it would go off or when it would go back on. And a great way to inflict even more stress on the population.

My reading of it was that they would want digital control of money, movement etc, and people can be forced into acquiescing to this via shortages. And it is suspicious how the western world is supportive of such wreckage being carried out by Trump, Netanyahu and Iran, the latter having not had much choice in the matter if it wants to survive.
No western leaders are howling at the US/Trump to stop, despite the deep harm to all countries. The BBC is more interested in its world cup coverage.
Once the control is in place, they don’t need to starve people of energy, and food any longer, though of course that’s an additional power they probably will be pleased to have available. Everyone could then be ‘friends’ again, with the power on (when you are authorized) - but with difference that your freedom is now digitalized. You might find it hard to even organize a protest. I guess that’s what @Rich is getting at. Cheers

Interesting that iceagefarmer is resurfacing after what seemed a long silence.
He is correct that this is engineered scarcity and will be exploited.
On the issue of pharmaceuticals, our local GP practice arbitrarily decided about a fortnight ago to issue 8 week supplies instead of 4. Supposedly to reduce the administrative burden and allow them to concentrate on priority patients.
