Email to Sean Rafferty at 'In Tune' on BBC Radio 3 tonight

Poor Sean evidently feels it one of the great tragedies of his life that he was born Irish, instead of into the bourgeois servitors of the English-raj class, where the old queen evidently seems to feel so much more at home. His obedient spieling of pro-Ukraine soft-propa tonight was nauseating. My response:

SELFQUOTE:

Dear Sean,

Thank you for your generous, steaming measure of Ukrainian propaganda this evening, but I don’t want it, thanks. Please put it where it will find more favour. (The words ‘monkeys’ and ’nuts’ spring involuntarily to mind…)

The villainous, murdering nazis in the Ukraine have been brutalising that unlucky country for these past eight years (courtesy of their USuk CIA/MI6 sponsors), killing thousands, including many children. These bestial criminals are even now being destroyed by the Russian and Donbas militaries, performing their great cleansing service for the world.

It’s those soldiers to whom we owe the praise and the solidarity, especially as they risk their lives continuously, doing everything that they can to minimise the deaths of innocent civilians and the destruction of their civil infrastructure, whilst bringing in hundreds of tons of humanitarian aid from Russia. Wouldn’t you like to mention those easily-established facts?

I’m sure the Banderite nazis will be very grateful for your propaganda efforts on their behalf, though.

I suggest that it would be more prudent for you to stick to just introducing the music, thanks.

Yours most sincerely, Rhisiart Gwilym

Less than perfectly ahimsic, I admit. But sometimes we find ourselves in a cleft stick, where there are - literally - no kindly stances at all available; not any which have a hope in hell of succeeding anyway; none which don’t involve craven head-burying.

We’re then left with a simply non-dodgeable choice of evils: Which is the least bad…?

Very regrettably, supporting the Russian/Donbas militaries, or at least refraining from joining the current shrilly-hysterical propaganda-storm condemning them, seems the best of a bad bunch.

A local bakery is displaying Ukraine slices. These seem to be chunks of rocky road, with a very pale yellow icing, and blue icing squiggled on top of that. Pitiful really.

Here’s what we wrote to the minister of our local independent chapel (where M used to play the organ before they swapped God for Covid)

Dear xxxxx

We hope you and yours are well.

We’ve noticed an addition to the chapel’s notice board signalling support for ‘Ukraine’. Here’s what we wrote to High Peak buses on this very topic the other day:

Good afternoon.

My wife and I were disgusted at the appearance of war propaganda notices on your buses in the High Peak on the 199 and 61 services we used on Tuesday 15th. Your business is the provision of public transport, not trumpeting your support for one side in an armed conflict between strangers taking place thousands of miles away.

If you had lost members of your family in the war against Nazism you would not be so eager to ‘stand with’ people whose government and armed forces include some who openly declare their admiration for the actions and policies of the Third Reich and whose actual and spiritual ancestors were happy to participate in some of the worst atrocities of the second world war against Jews, Poles as well as, of course, Russians.

These murderous thugs’ killing and besieging of the ethnic Russians of the Donbass ever since the overthrow of the elected government in 2014 has been condemned by the UN. Last year, for instance, the 32nd report of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) updated its chronicle of Ukrainian human right violations against civilians in the Donbass region, directly implicating the Ukrainian army, the National Guard, the Security Service of Ukraine, Far-Right militias and other power structures.

According to the UN High Commissioner, when compared to the previous period, there was a 51% increase in Donbass casualties between February 1 and July 31 2021, accounting for 62 killed and wounded civilians. 81% of civilian deaths were the result of Ukrainian shelling and more than 80% of hits during the reporting period led to destruction. Among the victims were young children. The number of ceasefire violations from February 1 to July 31 increased by 369%. With these harrowing figures, there have been at least 3,390 confirmed civilian deaths since April 14, 2014.

With Ukrainian General Oleksandr Pavlyuk admitting that the military intentionally shelled civilian infrastructure in Donbass, thus violating the Minsk agreements, there is good reason to believe that the UN overall casualty figure of about 7,000 is grossly underestimated as not all civilian casualties are reported. For example, in the 2014-2015 winter season, many lonely old people died in the remote settlements of Donbass. There were also cases of starvation and suicide in large cities.

Part of the reason for many unaccounted deaths is because Ukraine stopped paying pensions, froze bank cards and imposed a humanitarian blockade against Donbass. UN estimates do not highlight these civilian losses due to the inability of being able to account for a huge region that faces constant population displacement. There is also the concealment of statistics by military and civilian authorities on both sides of the front. Therefore, there are many deaths that remain unaccounted for.

As for shelling, for the period from February 1 to July 31, the UN mission recorded an 81% increase of incidents by Kiev’s forces against Donbass. The Ukrainian military targeted power supply facilities, educational institutions, water supply and sanitation facilities, gas supply infrastructures and hospitals.

But you think you know better than the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights: your company’s policy is to tell the world that it supports ‘Ukraine’. Useful idiots hardly covers it. Please reconsider and remove these supposedly fashionable but actually inappropriate and embarrassing virtue signals from your buses.>

Sincerely,

xxxx & xxxxx

How much more inappropriate and embarrassing it is to see support for ‘Ukraine’ being offered by a Christian congregation here! We can only suppose that you have been taken in by the official propaganda. Information such as that given above (the UN report of late last year) is not broadcast here. Are you aware that the ethnic Russian people of East Ukraine, many of whom worship in the Russian Orthodox tradition and whose first language is Russian, were recently forbidden the use of their mother tongue for official and educational purposes? Its not just these peoples’ lives and livelihoods that have been being taken by the Nazi-dominated Ukraine government, its their culture too.

A few weeks ago President Zelensky raised the stakes on his campaign for Ukraine to be accepted into NATO by stating his desire for the Ukraine to be equipped with nuclear weapons, the implication being that they were required with Russia in mind. This provocation may well have been the final straw for the Russian government.

How shameful to publicly associate the xxxxxxx congregation with this evil. Please bring this to everyone’s attention and think again!

With all best wishes,

xxxx & xxxxx

We noticed today the bus signs have gone. at least from the 2 we saw… You never know!

You know, I think I’m smelling a law of diminishing returns operating in the Permanent Bullshit Blizzard just lately.

The propa-hysterics raged for two years around the covid-flu scam, until it finally petered out this Spring. Yet I’m already beginning to notice - I think - that the replacement Ukra-hysterics are beginning to falter already, when they’re less than a month old. What was wall-to-wall unbroken a couple of weeks ago is now distinctly patchy, and getting swamped in quite other, more prosaic news about this and that. It’s already running out of steam. The talking head ‘experts’ sound more and more irrelevant, less and less authoritative.

I’ve been laughing repeatedly as I observe all this, because what I’m seeing very plainly is grown-up-infantile boobies throwing a huge tantrum fit, for a very potent reason. This being that they’ve been hit between the eyes by a sudden horrifying realisation: There isn’t a damn’ thing, nothing actually effectual at all, that they can do to block or stop the Russian action in Russia’s Ukrainian sphere of influence. The Western boobies have realised to their horror that there is - literally - no military action whatever that they can take which has the remotest chance of succeeding; and not only that, but their military means are in such disarray that they are beginning to look comprehensively unserviceable. And to add further sting to the shock, not only do the sanctions from hell not work in any substantial way against Russia, but the hell is actually visiting the Anglozionist empire disproportionately, and incrementally: getting steadily worse by the day, as the Az-empire governments realise that they’ve shot themselves copiously in the feet with the sanctions, especially as Russia begins to add on, again incrementally, its counter-sanctions.

To me, this is feeling like a small personal schadenfreude-fest!

I can’t resist this one. For those unfamiliar, Chernenko (portrayed in this video) was the President of the then Soviet Union; and of course the other antagonist is President Ronald Regan. This video was made in the early 1980s, when the psychos were all wanting to incinerate 100s of millions of people, as you do…

As to why the Western propa-hysteria about the Ukraine is already fading, Boris Alexandrovich Rozhin - aka ‘Colonel Cassad’ - has a suggestion (gleaned from a machine-translated interview with Rozhin, posted at Saker):

QUOTE:

— I just wanted to ask you as an information warfare specialist. Are we still losing now, or are we starting to win the information war against Ukraine and the global West?

– Of course, before the start of the special operation, the enemy had an overwhelming superiority over us in information resources. It is understandable: the West controls the main information flows in the world, and it has very serious information “troops”. And we see that, especially in the first days of the hot conflict, an attempt was made at an information blitzkrieg in order to convince the population of Russia, to inspire them with the idea not to support the special operation. However, this conditional blitzkrieg failed, and the level of support for the actions of the Russian military in our society remained very high. This once again shows that it is not necessary to absolutize Western information weapons: yes, they can displace all other opinions, but only in their own environment, where they practically control everything.

Why did Russia immediately begin to clean up the information space? That is, they began to systematically eliminate all media resources associated with the enemy on the territory of the country (at the moment, The Echo of Moscow radio station, The Village, TJournal, Snob, Interlocutor, St. Petersburg Paper, Dozhd TV channel (recognized as a foreign agent), Media Zones (recognized as a foreign agent), “Medusa” (also included in the register of media-foreign agents) – ed.)? Because there are a lot of these media structures in Russia and in the current situation they had, according to the plan of their Western curators, to shoot together at the consciousness of the Russian audience. This did not happen, but the cleanup will continue in any case: those resources that have clearly indicated their connection with our external enemies will, of course, be closed.

On the Internet we see positional information battles with the movements of crowds of “commentators”. This will all happen, because information warfare is a very important part of any modern war. It is obvious that on our side there were various shortcomings, mistakes, miscalculations related to the issues of conducting information operations. But this is eliminated already along the way: what does not correspond to reality is dying literally before our eyes. What can, adapts and changes. As a matter of fact, the Russian media machine that we have will change along with the whole country. Accordingly, those who cannot will remain on the sidelines of history. And those who can, will go ahead. After all, the conflict is not limited to one current special operation — it is a long conflict of the Cold War level.

thanks Alan, a very useful statement of facts to present to authorities and officials who will be obliged to read it - like Woke local councils or action groups who previously knew nothing about either Donbass or the neo-Nazis.

Rhisiart - console yourself here with this genuine display of classical talent for a political end - Valentina Lisitsa in Donetsk, June 2015:

The playing may be less than perfect, but the heart is overflowing.

Yes, the spirit trumps perfection here - it’s fabulous to see.

My old man was a pianist and this was one of his favourites to play - this music always moves me - but in this setting it’s especially potent.

As Walt had it:

In this broad earth of ours, Amid the measureless grossness and the slag, Enclosed and safe within its central heart, Nestles the seed of perfection.
