Dr. Angelique Coetzee: Didn't you hear me? I said Omicron was very, very, mild in comparison to Delta

I’m paraphrasing…The South Africa Dr who raised the ‘alarm’ thinks the UK government is…well she didn’t say ‘Nuts’…but she did say “very, very mild”.
But the possiblilty that Omicron pushes the level of covid severity down to sub-flu levels should be cause for optimism, not a mad panic.

“I said then that we didn’t know anywhere near enough about Omicron to make such judgments, or impose such policies. Now I find myself even more astonished by the UK Government’s latest pronouncements, given what has become apparent about Omicron in the past four weeks.”

‘I alerted the wider world to Omicron - and I believe Britain is overreacting’: Doctor Angelique Coetzee, the South African GP who knows more about its effects than anyone, calls for calm despite variant cases spiking 50 per cent in 24 hours

Hi @Evvy_dense , thnks for the link - what I found particularly interesting was the point she made that Omicron could be a “good” virus giving us well needed antibodies without causing any real harm so as to protect us from other variations which may come along which are more dangerous. Isolating and lock downs and distancing and masks will be reducing the exposure to Omicron ( perhaps!) which reduces the benefit to the population! So Bojit’s first reaction is to follow the path that is most likely to do the most damage!
"Admittedly, our laboratories do not carry out genetic sequencing for every death, so we do not know how many Covid-related deaths can be attributed to Omicron and how many to other variants.

But yesterday there were only 11 Covid-related deaths in South Africa, far fewer than the 578 weekly average reported at Delta’s peak.

If Omicron really were such a deadly variant, we would expect the numbers to have shot up, yet that simply isn’t happening here.

This makes it all the more peculiar to see what’s happening in the UK. This huge over-reaction is scaring people unnecessarily, and if your Government does decide go to for a hard lockdown in the New Year, that could end up doing far more harm than good.

That is because Omicron could potentially be of great help to us — which is certainly not something you could say about the Delta variant.
…A hard lockdown would slow the process of Omicron making its way through the population and allowing people to develop the vital antibodies which will move your population towards ‘herd immunity’.

The next variant that comes along might be slower spreading but more severe, and so we will need all the help we can get from such natural immunity."

I go about promiscuously, un-‘protected’ (except by my state of mind), happily breathing the same air everyone else is breathing.

My idea is to catch each mutation ASAP, and get the extra immune-library addenda which the ‘virus-variants’ - or useful, benign exosome messengers, perhaps? - offer to us all. That’s what having herd-immunity against an endemic minor life-threat means, in practical terms.

Been doing this all my life, with excellent results. And of course, if the messenger you catch happens to shake your state of wellness up a bit, in passing - because you happen to have let yourself get below par healthwise - then there are by-now-well-proven helper-medicines which assist you to integrate the new information into your system without too much suffering. Certainly - unless it’s your time - there’s no need to be rushed to death’s door by the messengers.

Ultimately, we maintain our natural strong immunity by eating, living, and prophylacting prudently (no need to expand those rules, as most now understand what they mean), by avoiding as far as we can the widely-dispersed pollution-poisons which our mad society has been spraying around for decades;

And by maintaining the proper mind-state, of course.

Anyone who’s au fait with the current very high level of experimental evidence for direct PK effects on the physical world induced by our interior mind-activities will understand that the ancient shamans’/mages’ insistence, that what goes on - habitually! - in mind directly affects what goes on in world, is now confirmed by modern top-quality scientific work. (Still rabidly resisted by the present crop of gatekeeper scientismic gocos, of course.)

I used exactly this approach thirty years ago when touring Indian cities with an invited company of thesps from Leicester Haymarket, showing Shaksper and Stephen Spender plays to audiences of avid Indian literary afficionados. The total touring company, with actors plus all the other essential workers was forty souls. I was literally the only person who refused all prophylactic injections and drugs, and trusted instead to the ancient shamanic approach touched on above. I was also - literally - the only member of the company who never had a hint of illness during the whole tour. Several of our company got so ill, despite all their line-toeing medical hoop-jumping, that they spent time in Indian hospitals. We are designed to be robustly well, so long as we don’t eff it up with long-sustained health-killer habits - or inappropriate pharmaceuticals.

I also happen to believe - from repeated experience - that, if you stake your life on your knowledge - like Carlos Castaneda and his fellow-apprentice leaping off a cliff together* - this degree of commitment tends to make your personal magical results more beefy… perforce! :scream:

*Take that story literally or metaphorically, as you prefer. Since none of us were actually on that mesa in Mexico in the 1960s, we’ve no way of knowing for sure which it was; but hold your horses a little before you start asserting - a priori - that there’s no such thing as levitation: the real thing rather than the illusionist’s trick, that is. There is; I’ve witnessed it… :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I didn’t look any deeper than the headline of Monday the 13th announcing the first Omicron death… they didn’t wait long before inserting that into the narrative did they, to counter any follow up stories from the Gauteng muti merchants.

Now any sceptics can be accused of disrespecting the dead and being uncaring toward their grieving family if they imply that this story is b.s.

It’s becoming a well worn routine.

Contacted for her follow-up comment Dr Coetzee may have said something like (CW: many many creepy crawlies, many many vloekwoorde)

hi @Kieran_Telo , the daily fail managed a whimper on transparency but seemed to establish the patient was discovered to have the big O in hospital and died WITH O not FROM O -

at the same time the rag managed to continue the push for boosters!

Thanks @CJ1. Some interesting language, not least that Omi is “highly evolved”, not like that thuggy old Del.
