I sit and speak with my wife of 30 years – of marriage, not age. Inexorably, inevitably, the topic we discuss morphs to Doom & Gloom. As she would attest, no topic does not. She declares that I live in a dark, foreboding world, she implies she does not. Like Snake Pliskin, she plans her escape.
