Apparently the damp squib was lit at 23:17 GMT, then nothing much happened at all while everyone was asleep and then the damp squib finally fizzled out at 09:56 GMT the next morning.

Damp squid perhaps, but Iranian commentators are speaking much more stridently about a harsh response than I have ever heard before. One commentator said after talking to people on the street there is a strong opinion that Iran should respond forcefully.

I’ve not got right into this yet but so far I’ve not seen much damage and I got the impression from the longish thread on RT that neither side want this to escalate any further. But perhaps that’s wishfull thinking on my part.
For what its worth, from an old peacenik, ha ha, I’ve been on a journey and my hoped-for vision is now an image of an Israel utterly destroyed by a massive response from Iran. I’m bloody sorry for the Palestinians there (back in the day we met some who were proud to call themselves ‘Arab Israelis’ ffs) but they are in for the next bit of Zio holocaust anyway.
Come on Iran, do it.

The Iran attack by Israel was apparently scaled down after classified documents were leaked in the US.
… until the US Election is out of the way.
Looks to me like that stage of the bar fight where well-meaning bystanders tug the fellahs apart: “You’ve both taken some licks now let’s call it a day”
