From when Craig was civil-servanting in Ghana, at the time of a visit by Mrs. Windsor and Mr. Mountbatten. Apparently Craig quite liked and got on with Phil the Greek; as I suspect I might have too, despite both his warts and mine. Chiefly interesting, though, is the insight Craig’s chapter - from one of his books - gives, to illustrate vividly just how careful and professional the whole PR management around the monarchy circus really is. Because, of course, it’s a priceless tool for manipulating and leading by the nose millions of - shall we say innocent - punters, both here in The Isles, and in ‘the Commonwealth’:
