Craig Murray senses the accelerating departure of Scotland from the ukstate

It’s in the air…

… so lets suck all the air away with a lovely big bureaucracy …

No, if you look at his comparisons with other small European countries, you’ll see that he’s just proposing about the same as they all do. That sort of managerial infrastructure seems to be - unfortunately - necessary for running a modern sovereign state. Sad but - apparently - true.

The thing that struck me particularly about this post is that Craig -who has been watching this whole evolution with dedicated commitment, seems to have picked up a sudden sense that the avalanche towards independence has now started rolling, and there’s nothing much that can stop it. Hence the newly formed ‘Now Scotland’ movement. Striking whilst the avalanche roars - to mix a metaphor.

A growing list of consecutive polls have now turned up clear majorities amongst the Scots for independence. I’d say this is down to the outrage of Scotland being dragged out of the EU against its clearly expressed democratic will, and then the disastrous shambles of Bozo’s Toxic Buffoons in the Paedominster cabinet’s handling of the covid thing, and the catastrophe that this has wrought on the common citizens of Britain.

Smells like the last straw to Craig, I sense. And to me. Scots have finally had it with the ‘union’.

Good points, and implicit in CM’s post.
As a means to an end, the breakup of the UK looks inevitable. But what end?

What if modern sovereign states aren’t in fact necessary?

Technocratic corporatism is what we have, in fact, and replicating that in Scotland is what he’s seeming to advocate.

...and look how **very** well it's working everywhere else...
