Respected military critic Col Douglas McGregor has been generally more approving of the Trump administration than the Biden one on military policy up until recently.
Now he says there’s no difference between supposed right and left, just a uniparty.
This has largely come about due to Trump’s billionaire funders being Israel supporters.
He says Trump, who is clearly fully on board with the attack on Iran, can’t be trusted in any negotiations.
Indeed Trump seems delusional if he thinks Iran is getting back to negotiations with HIM over its nuclear programme.
He points out that nuclear power facility is a sovereign right. Something you don’t hear on the media who happily chirp misleadingly about “Iran’s nuclear programme” - this morning I heard an Israeli journalist telling us what Netanhayu - who claimed Iran was days away from a nuclear weapon" - “believes” on this issue. As if he wouldn’t even exaggerate.

If Iran’s retaliatory attacks seem on the light side - only 3 actual deaths - given Israel’s provocation. this may be because, as McGregor suggests, an initial aim is to use up Israel’s supplies of defence weaponry, for what are Iran’s old weapons. He points out that Iran’s supply of, and access to, other weaponry is extensive.
Just to pick out a couple of key points…Unfortunately I don’t think he sees a way back from the recent escalation, at least in the short term. To paraphrase McGregor loosely, the straits in and around the ME are crawling with vessels of the big foreign powers. He seems to reckon that Turkey is a greater threat to Israel’s ultimate existence than Iran is.

June turned out to be Iran’s Pearl Harbor. Iran will now react as we did in 1942 when we were caught napping. What was limited to the region between Israel and Iran will now become regional. Trump’s statements after the fact are an admission of his own level of complicity in the attacks. The ”talks" with Iran were a ruse. Witkoff, like most of the Trump Administration was an agent of Israel and Netanyahu. This is the beginning of a regional war that will involve The United States, Russia, as well as the whole Islamic World. As Dan McAdams of the Ron Paul Institute pointed out this morning, the similarities between the Israeli use of drones inside Iran with the Ukrainian Spider Web Attack inside Russia are striking. Finally, Americans should now expect terrorist attacks on soft targets inside the USA. Soft targets include at a minimum nuclear reactors, military installations, power grids, and shopping malls.
