Don’t know much about Larry Wilkerson tbh, but I have to say that I was fairly impressed by this interview.
Col. (ret.) Lawrence Wilkerson’s last positions in government were as Secretary of State Colin Powell’s Chief of Staff (2002-05), Associate Director of the State Department’s Policy Planning staff under the directorship of Ambassador Richard N. Haass, and member of that staff responsible for East Asia and the Pacific, political-military and legislative affairs (2001-02).
Before serving at the State Department, Wilkerson served 31 years in the U.S. Army. During that time, he was a member of the faculty of the U.S. Naval War College (1987 to 1989), Special Assistant to General Powell when he was Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (1989-93), and Director and Deputy Director of the U.S. Marine Corps War College at Quantico, Virginia (1993-97). Wilkerson retired in 1997 and began work as an advisor to General Powell. He has also taught national security affairs at the George Washington University.
Thanks @admin for posting this interesting discussion. Still half left to watch.
The current US regime is more extreme than the Bush (and then Obama) ones they served under. It’s turning previous flag waving militarists (of the retired variety ) that have the highest patriotic credentials and rank, almost into anti-Israel or anti-war activists. Their conversions are less than Damascian,or maybe they just obeyed orders dutifully despite not liking them. But either way they are pretty useful now. I’m struck by their gravitas, not all Stormin’ Normans.
It’s worrying that Wilkerson half-predicts a wider conflict.
It’s interesting what he says about AIPAC (at about halfway point) funding US media and also most of Congress with raised funds.
They are also getting involved in individual campaigns,
I found these:
The second half doesn’t disappoint. Wilkerson’s ready grasp of world affairs is striking. The kind of grasp that in the past you might have associated with presidents.
He all but says the Israel regime is…evil as well as nuts.
The comments of these senior military experts on Israel’s behaviour are striking. If Israel has lost it’s most staunch, bricked-in supporters due to its recent actions, then it can be assumed it has absolutely no friends outside those bound by obvious political and financial ties.
Just a little world war will do, to keep Netanyahu out of the tin pail until he falls off his perch naturally.
Netanyahoo must think he is in NATO.
Lammy has publicly denied this is a UK obligation.
At the end of @admin’s video Wilkerson discusses these endgame scenarios, including the possible use of the nuclear ‘option’ for a less than strategic purpose
