I guess Terror Derangement Syndrome is a form of madness. I’m quite serious about that, as I witness - quite gobsmacked - more and more people living behind an invisible glass wall that seals them into a different world from the one that I inhabit; an alternative world where all the stampede-inducing shite that we’re being sold is gospel, which must always be believed and obeyed without demur.
I really feel as if I’m in a different cognitive universe. Terror paralyses the common-sense scepticism of the unstampeded mind. People become hyper-suggestible, and fanatically determined not to hear, or even to grasp, any idea that might divert them from faithfully following their perceived saviours, back to ‘safety’ - hah! It’s the terror that makes them flounce off in a puff of petulant anger the moment they hear any suggestion of a dissident fact…

I don’t think this will happen.
The next big protest is set to take place in London at the weekend.
This will be a real protest, unlike all the Kill The Bill, Extinction Rebellion, BLM, et al, which are all completely phoney set-ups (although, sadly, many useful idiots buy into it).
You can tell a real protest because no one wears face nappies, and the Presstitutes will completely ignore it.

No protests here Rob! It is as RG says, only even worse. Most of my friends are getting to the point where I can’t talk to them any more, and they roll their eyes behind my back. We eagerly talk of vax passports without any protest from those who would have done so once, while “anti=vaxers” are simply ground into the dark. But because we ALL must be vaccinated before we are “safe” - and threatened by just ONE CASE that comes into OZ, the international borders are expected to remain closed till mid next year. The only way we could escape currently is to be Vaxed…

I was angered to be reminded of the depth of the deception again yesterday when attending a Zoom teaching by Bhikkhu Bodhi. He’s a world authority on Theravada and has written extensively, and also translated substantial parts of the Pali canon.
During the course of a lesson on one of the more fanciful Numbered Discourses he digressed into a finger-wagging ridiculing of “people who think bleach will cure covid” despite the careful and learned guidance of Dr Anthony Fauci, who he clearly holds in high regard.
I guess if you’re dependent upon alms and you live in NYC it is unwise to alienate ones supporters. Paññā? Depends on your definition it seems.

I refer you to the post above! I’ve been avoiding Muz because of this…I don’t think any of the “previously respected” (incl. Satish Kumar but I’ll have to research this), although they may speak against “ghaflah” distractions they don’t exhort their audience to eschew the use of WiFi devices using such themselves (being media creations and believing their own propaganda -I thought that was what Thelemites were best at-), neither do they show any true proclivity for theoretical physics in the post Enlightenment mode (now who’s throwing the baby out with the bathwater?), being unable to appreciate the threat that particle beam accelerators and colliders represent. This would seem to include those who practice and teach Vedanta…
…and it is this the data-vampires discovered…they know what strings to pull now (or at least think they do), I’m still reminded of Herbert’s “Dune” though; “the tighter one closes one’s fist around a handful of sand the more slips through your fingers!”
Must be a nightmare not to encounter any critical thinking around you. It’s just amazing the level of insanity gripping the world.
Just some random bits of news: 16 cases in Taiwan and they’re imposing masks on going outside and considering locking down Taiwan considers coronavirus lockdown as island registers record 16 domestic transmissions — RT World News ; in Romania, masks are obligatory outside except on beaches, mountains and in restauarants, once you sit at a table. How insane is that – walking in the park is deemed more dangerous than a being with a group of people at a table? And I thought the UK was bad…

It’s just amazing how all these varied countries are following exactly the same script. France also has a timetable to ‘get back to normal’, and the dates almost mirror the UK one. Ah ha, but we have the ‘Indian variant’. DA DA DAH!
